So beloved people what about this hating of other beings when Satn becomes the man of sin, the ANTICHRIST, can you love the man that was spirit [as Jesus became a man] ....why would you love him as a man but not as a cherub???
Satan was made perfect [like you?] and sin was found in him [like you?] ....are you really not going to forgive if he should repent? here about the master potter if you have a will}

hi rcw109! Who are you saying will repent? If you are saying Satan, he won't. I also had this question before and my Mom sa he won't cuz he's God's enemy. It didn't satisfy me. Then I went to the Bible and got my answer.

It clearly says in Revelation that He will be cast into the lake of fire. I have even heard pastors who believe that satan 'can' repent. Don't believe for one moment that he can. I think it is more like he won't. he is just so jealous of God, his one aim is to take as many people to hell with him. because he knows he can't beat God, he will hurt God by tripping up as many of God's created image-bearers as he can.

It is right to hate Satan and all His cohorts..

The mercy of God endures for ever [Psalms] so mercy goes on even through the sore trials of the lake of fire.
Time and death and corruption cannot end until ALL opposition to God has bended its knee and worshipped God's truth.... that is why it takes so long! and we all have to go on suffering so that sin can be overcome RIGHTEOUSLY.
Here is an OATH of God that might just convince you!

Isa 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
Isa 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

I reached my faith through love in my own heart

finally being acknowledged by myself

as being the right way of life

even in this world

[which thinks it knows a better way

in for example money and enterprise,

self-interest and greed].

Through love at heart alone I know

and recognise and acknowledge Jesus Christ

and that he showed us our Father

through his love [even to die for his brothers,

...no greater love had any man.

This man died to save ALL sinners

by making a way for us to know perfect truth

from Almighty God through the spirit of truth.

[thus we meditate and enter the spirit

as did the prophets and apostles

to worship and know God in spirit]

When Jesus tells us to love our enemies

it is for us, not for our enemies,

for if we do not love what God has created then

how can we love God who is responsible

for creating all

thus God created both good and evil

and uses evil for good repeatedly

uses chastisement and chastening to defeat

all pride and ego

and establish ALL confidence in God alone

so that we can only praise him in all things

not ourselves for what he does through us.

So our love is perfected in loving our greatest enemy,

even satan,

even when he soon comes on earth as that man of sin,

the antichrist,

pretending to be Christ returned

and asking us to worship him as God

...we can still love

even this being

although we detest the things he does

and refuse absolutely to worship him.

For this I have even been falsely accused by some of

[AND I cringe] following satan!!

I must state that I DO NOT,

I worship God in spirit through the promise of Jesus Christ ,

whom I acknowledge came as a man ,

died for us,

and is risen to be our high priest at the right hand of God

... no antichrist can bear this witness

as there are many of the spirit of antichrist

but they all seek to DENY the Son of God,

Jesus Christ,

whom I declare and cofess through love here and now.

2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

2Jo 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

2Jo 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

1Jo 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1Jo 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Please see then that we CAN and indeed MUST

love our enemies to follow Christ

and that we need not be afraid of satan

if we ask for the spirit of perfect truth

from God through Jesus Christ

by entering the spirit after prayer

perfect truth that defeats even satan's cunning wiles.

dear Iffy,
like all our enemies we can love the being , but not necessarily like what they do, else how can we love any enemy?
Wouldn't you REPENT if thrown into the lake of fire?
[fire actually represents trial and tribulation that God uses to get all to repent, we have a trial of 'fire' to go through too:-

1Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

If we were speaking in Greek it would be easier to define as there are several words for our one word Love.

Should we hate Satan?
We leave Satan to God because even other angels do not rebuke him
In Gods name I rebuke you (cant remember chapter and verse)
Thats why we pray against Satan and evil in the name of Jesus as without him we have no power
Yes we hate sin and have as little to do with Satan as we can. Hate gives Satan a foothold in our hearts. We should not fear him, but fear God only.

there is worse than hate, there is indifferance
God dislikes the lookwarm heart

1 Enoch indicates that adversary [satan in Hebrew] is a role of being an adversary, rather than a being ,and that several named angels take up this role...despite the righteous judgement of God against satans, the holy angels feel sorrow and pity , not hate.
We could look at it also that satans provide the good trial of our faith in love, and thus provide a service in making absolutely sure of our faith, that it is not based on vain words but true love for all....
Ironically it would seem that a false perception of satans could induce the righteous to hate and so to be rightly judged lacking in love. [do we hate sinners because they sin, i think not]

"I will not contend forever, neither will I be always wroth; for the spirit should fail before men, and the souls which I have made." (Isaiah 57:16)
----Is this declaration consistent with the doctrine of endless misery? According to that doctrine, will not God contend forever? Will he not be always wroth?

"THE LORD WILL NOT CAST OFF FOREVER. But, though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies, for he doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men." (Lamen. 3:31-33)

It seems that God destroys the old man in satan just as He does in us and satan comes to reconciliation with God!

"Love your enemy...."
What a concept!

In a time comforted by the traditions of patriarichal and social tribalism, along comes this Galilean who speaks to a love beyond the usual ethical boundaries we are all raised to accept. And he is willing to be crucified for that vision.

We have heard and read the verses in Matthew so frequently that we have become deadened to their original shock value. No one in first-century Palestine could imagine such a thing. And not only did he asks his listeners to love their enemies, he also asked his followers to let their enemies love them!

But within a century of the crucifixion, Jesus' followers had undone most of his ministry: casting his beloved Mary Magdalene as a harlot, turning his earthly mother into an icon, breaking up the all-embracing circle, starting arguments over the very things Jesus said were insignificant, lusting after power, making war in the name of peace, killing infidels in the name of
life, stifling inquiry in the name of truth.

And, of course, finding reasons aplenty to hate our enemies.

The Christian community has never seemed content to discover the Jesus who dwells among us. There is that human tendency to put words into Jesus' mouth and hatreds into his heart.

We make him an angry judge, when he was a humble servant. We make him warlike and cruel, when he was peaceful and kind. We project our own bigotry onto him, ignoring the ways he did behave.

Often the institution has little relationship to the man himself.

"Love your enemy?" Too dangerious these days.

Like a computer "firewall," Christianity has done its job: the fire has been stopped. Like an unwanted computer virus, the dangerous seed that God wanted to plant in human hearts has been quarantined. To keep the institution safe, we have banished risk, punished the disturbing, declared decorum more worthy than remorse or praise.

In our understandably human tendency to "look for loopholes," we have often done the very thing Jesus died to prevent.

And just perhaps--as has been said before--Satan's pain is that he is seperated from God. I know I share in that seperation from time to time: And that is why the authentic Jesus is so important to me.

It is doubly ironic that many people think that they cannot love Satan because they regard him as the essence of evil and yet almost everyone is going to love himas the anti-christ because of the things he does [pretending to be Christ]... thus they hate him for his presumed evil deeds and yet will love him for his deeds... both missing the point that love is not for a reason, it just IS and WAS and WILL BE that which it IS and WAS and WILL BE... there are no reasons for love, it is the cause of everything , but not the result of anything, [it is absolute and so just is]

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

The Bible says that our God is love, and that is the only way I for one recognise Him as God and recognise Jesus... we cannot be that love if we harbour other desires than love beyond self or any form of hatred, even for those who have deceived us, used us.

George MacDonald wrote a book titled _Lillith_ which was, in no small part, addressed to this question and its relatives.

I think the answer is "yes". We are supposed to understand Satan's frustration, pain, and anger. We're not supposed to *agree* with him, or take his side... but we should never let hatred blind us. I certainly can't say with certainty that Satan can't be redeemed; wouldn't it be embarassing to meet him later if he was, and you spent a lot of time hating him?

Hmm. On second thought, never mind; hate generally keeps you from meeting those who have been redeemed.
