A new scary venture, I need your prayers again

Most of you know, and have been with me over the last year through my brothers illness and passing. You were all so wonderful and I thank God for you still.

What most of you don't know, is that my husband during this time, was diagnosed with Parkinsons. He is 15 years older than me, and has been battling the tremors and depression. We are learning to deal with this, God is faithful.

About two weeks before Rocky passed, it was about 3 in the morning, and I was lying in bed with him. He was actually resting for a change. And the thought came to me, "If I can do this, if I can can care for someone I love who is dying, if I can check his vitals, change his bed and depends, administer all of these meds, if I can deal and bear with him not knowing who I am half of the time, I can do this for anyone." So I am.

The week after he passed, I decided to go to school and get my RN. I want to work in oncology and if nothing else, help another family get through what we had to go through. SO...I start fall quarter at Central Ohio Technical College in Nusing. I am so excited and my heart sings regularly, "This is for you Rocky."

I am also homeschooling my kids again this year, I am in training to get my STNA at a local nursing home, working two nights a week currently at my old job, and start school on Wed, Sept. 24th. I have only had two moments where I thought what in God's name are you doing? Five kids to take care of, a husband with his health issues, homeschooling, working, school...what are you THINKING!??!! I am thinking I really am going to need some prayers at times, and that is where you all come in. Will you please pray for me this fall, and my schedule and my sanity? I know you will...THANKYOU! I love you all!

Godbless, Lori

Wow, Lori, you are my hero! What an excellent way to honor Rocky's memory. I am sure he is proud of his sis! I have been wondering how you have been doing.

You certainly have a lot on your plate and I will keep you and your husband along with those 5 beautiful children in my prayers. Keep us updated on how you are doing. I want to rejoice with you when you get that RN!

I knew you'd be with me on this one! I will keep you updated.

I miss my Rocky still every single day. I am so happy and thankful for the brother/sister relationship we had. It was so awesome, and his memory, his laugh are with me every day. Looking forward for His return so I can see my little brother again! On a very blue day, the Lord reminded me that everyday I am here without my Rocky, is one day closer I am to seeing him again. Godbless you!

Thankyou all for your prayers. Quitting has never been me, I will do this!

I will definately be praying for your renewed strength, faith and patience each and every day. I admire you for taking on so many things and your determination. May the Lord expand your territories and abundantly bless you for your goals and comfort you and give you peace over everything you are facing. Good luck and prayers always....and also praying for you Desi. That's the 2nd post I've seen that has some negativity to it. May your faith be increased in all you do!

No, doubting DESI...just teasin...I'm only nervous really at the thought of going back to school again. My mom homeschooled us, so it's been awhile since I was even in a "traditional" school setting...4th grade to be exact...I've done alot to expand my knowledge, and I think I'm pretty intelligent, ( you're thinkin' "yeah, right, that's why you had soooo many kids...lol) I'm just a bit nervous...but I truly believe this is what I am supposed to do, and everything has just fallen into place so easily, I know God is with me. I also know, being human, I'm gonna have some crazy days! That's why I needed the prayer...for those crazy days comin...thanks for your prayers Desi and everyone else as well...

Godbless you all!
