    What is your workout?

My routine's always changing, but as of late it has been (in this order): 50 push ups 50 leg raises 50 crunches 1 exercise I don't know the name of which exercises the shoulders, neck, and forearms (to a count of 100) 50 leg raises (again) 50 crunches (again) Like I said, it'll change again...

    Bubonic Plague Question

What was the actual cause of death for a person with bubonic plague? When you read about it on a website, they only go as far as to say "the bubonic plague wiped out much of the population in Europe", but they don't actually explain how the person died. What actually occured in the body of a...

    Anyone an avid fisher person?

Most people around here feel the same way, but a lot of them will still eat carp. I think people started eating carp around here when the Great Depression hit and they were desperate for something to eat (most people around here who eat carp are older people who lived through the Depression or...

Are there any hunters out there?

Count me in. I'm all wound up about bow season this year (it'll be my first). I've been seeing a lot of deer and have been getting a lot of deer pictures on the GameCam, so it should be a good year for rifle and bow seasons. I live in an area that's predominantly woods (all of our 200 acres and...

    Anyone an avid fisher person?

Many people use carp to make patties (much in the way you make salmon patties). I've never tried it, but many of the locals say it's one of their favorite fish recipes.

    Bad Year for Plant Pests?

Actually, the little worms are black and blue (if I remember correctly). I usually end up squishing them by hand too since the Sevindust (which is a mild insecticide) won't stick to the bottom of the leaves. I also kill any large green "tomato" worms by hand since the Sevindust doesn't kill them...

    Bad Year for Plant Pests?

Has anyone else here had a lot of trouble with plant pests (moreso than usual) this year? They've been terrible around here. Many of my potato, pepper, cucumber, and okra plants have had the leaves stripped off by large, green worms (I've always called them tomato worms since I've only had...

What's coming up/being harvested in your garden???

I've had a lot of beans despite fungus problems. Okra and cucumbers are blooming even though they've taken a beating from the insects. The fall potatoes have failed and the carrots aren't doing great, but I've already picked a couple of tomatoes. The pepper plants are recovering from insect...

    Saving Seeds

How do you save the seeds from your veggies so that you can plant them the next year? Can you simply let them dry out and stick them in a bag, or is it more complicated than that?
