    LDS Mormons faux Melchizedek

The Bible actually says that Melchizidek was not Jesus. Hebrews 7:3 says Melchizidek was "made like the Son of God". Note that it says "Like the Son of God", meaning that he was not the Son of God, but like Him.

"Call no man on earth 'father' for One is your Father". What's an example?

I just checked in 2 Catholic Bibles, the New American Bible and the RSV-Catholic Edition and both of those have the verse. They explain it as a prohibition on seeking and using honorific titles to exalt oneself in the eyes of other people.

Why the 7 churches in Rev 2&3 are not church ages !!

The fact that it's not in the Bible does NOT mean it can't be true. The doctrine of "sola scriptura" is not in the Bible, and the Bible nowhere contains a list of those books which properly constitute Holy Scripture, but that doesn't stop people from being very dogmatic about those things.

My name is Mohamed and I am an ex muslim

Hi and welcome to the Forum. Although raised as a Baptist I was an Ahmadiyya Muslim for 8 years (i know, 'not real Muslims') but I returned to Christianity a few years ago. I returned briefly to Islam but found I just didn't have it in myself to believe it anymore. Glad to see you've found...

My Thoughts on the Book of James

It says "justified", not "saved". The NIV says "considered righteous". Works do not save you, Paul is quite clear on that. Unless you believe that James contradicts Paul on this issue...

My Thoughts on the Book of James

What James meant, if I understand it correctly, is that faith that is not accompanied by works is not true saving faith. Ifd a person's faith is limited to acknowledging or intellectually assenting to the facts (for example, he believes God exists, or acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God)...

What is predestination and is it Biblical?

The verse that says "Many are called but few are chosen" refers to the general Gospel call given to everyone, but the effectual call (the call of those who ultimately believe) goes out to those who inevitably will come to saving faith. I'm not a Calvinist, btw, and I'm unsure of what to believe...

What is predestination and is it Biblical?

If God is truly omniscient and sovereign then predestination is impossible to avoid.

    mental illness and christianity

I don't know, but it's obvious God does not choose to heal every believer, otherwise there'd be no sick Christians.

    mental illness and christianity

The same reason a Christian would have diabetes or cancer. For reasons unknown to us, God does not heal everyone, so I trust His judgment on whether or not to heal me. If it's His will for me to stay like this, I take comfort in knowing that in Heaven I will be healed.

    mental illness and christianity

As a Christian with schizoaffective disorder I can assure you that it is in fact possible to be a Christian and mentally ill.

    Is it sacrilege?

There's nothing wrong with Biblical fiction. I like Life of Christ stories. There is one in particular called "I, Judas", by Taylor Caldwell, which presents the life of Jesus seen thru the eyes of Judas Iscariot.

The greatest power of a God... Is this Blaspheme...?

I don't know exactly how He is the same or anything, I just know that the Bible says He is.

The greatest power of a God... Is this Blaspheme...?

Heb 13:8 says "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.
