The idea that opposing the peremptory destruction of thousands of marriages by the state without the consent of (and indeed, against the wishes of) the couples involved can somehow be "anti-marriage" is as baffling as it is horrid.

Indeed; fortunately, gay marriage doesn't do any of these things. Does that include heterosexuality, too? Should we avoid suggesting to children in public schools that men often marry women? Should the government stop recognizing heterosexual "marriages"?

Correction: On this forum, one often finds one creationist arguing with a dozen or more people who accept evolution, including many Christians. Not all religious people find modern science to be in conflict with their faith.
