I love this thread! Sometimes you just need to let them know they're taking it the wrong way. Other times you need to watch what you say, because they've already made the mental choice that they're here to "help you" no matter what you say.
An all-night period of prayer is an admirable endeavor. Personally, I have never tried it but if you want to stay up later, practicing meditation can be very helpful. It builds your stamina for these types of spiritual exercises. All the best!
These situations are tough, and can get sticky. Don't worry too much about your friend's mental illness. Some things are out of our control. As long as the quality of our character is good, and we strive to be our best selves, there's no reason to fear death by any circumstance.
