    Generational Curses--question

I thank everyone for the responses. However, I was seeking a response from someone who DOES believe these exist (I would have clarified that up front, but since this is the Spirit Filled / Charismatic board, I didn't think I would get responses in opposition, as this is a major teaching in that...

Old Timey hymns? Anyone do them anymore?

Your independent Baptist churches generally oppose CCM (and many also oppose Southern Gospel as well). Plus they don't do anything that may resemble what you would see in a Pentecostal/Charismatic church.

    not sure about this church

Calvinist/Reformed theology is a really big issue. I would compare it to Pentecostal/Charismatic teaching in the sense that if you have problems with that theology, you don't need to be in a church where that is the foundation of their statement of faith. You will be miserable at best, and...

    Generational Curses--question

I have a question about this issue. What if, in your ancestry, there is an unknown parentage? Examples would be: closed adoption, promiscuity/sexual assault where the father is unknown, or infant abandonment ("Moses baby"). How do you pray to break those curses when you don't know the lineage?

The owners don't care. They're just waiting until the new ball park opens then they will likely sell. Plus one of the owners is a Baylor alumnus who STILL thinks Baylor is innocent of all the football shenanigans. Probably Daniels has pictures of the owner, a Baylor football player, and some...

Should Gays and Lesbians have their own conferences in the United Methodist church?

Why is it these groups want to be members of a denomination but don't want to agree with its teachings? That would be like me saying: "I want to join the Catholic Church but I don't agree with the perpetual virginity of Mary, the authority of the Pope, etc." The answer to that is simple...

If you were to choose a church that isn't Baptist, what other denominations would you consider?

In this order: 1. An evangelical non-denominational church 2. A church of Christ (I can live with having to be re-baptized, and as long as you keep your head low they don't cause you any problems; they do at least believe the Bible to be inerrant), provided it isn't one of the new-fangled ones...

Should Gays and Lesbians have their own conferences in the United Methodist church?

Instead of splitting a denomination, why don't they join a group like the Unitarian Universalists (who allow anyone to have whatever creed they want) or the Metropolitan Community Church (which is an LGBT-centered one)?

Then again the Rangers have Jon "the Moron" Daniels as the GM. The Fire Jon Daniels Club approves this message.

The name of this town is what...?

I've heard the same joke with Mexia, Texas (pronounced Muh-Hey-Uh), the punch line ended "Day-Ree-Kween". Still funny.

Are pastors allowed to become rich and wealthy ?

Having wealth isn't the problem. For the one's you've mentioned, it's how they've ignored most Biblical teaching in order to become "popular".

Pretty Confused and Amused by Church Regulations.

I've never heard of any church that required you to be a member before participating in church-sponsored activities (other than business meetings). In fact most times they encourage members to bring visitors who are either seeking God or seeking a new church home. What Baptist denomination is...

Pretty Confused and Amused by Church Regulations.

I would replace "church" with "cult" in that paragraph. Something tells me there are a lot more "conditions" placed on members than just tithing.

    Thinking of Divorcing my Wife

Here's how I would approach things from a practical perspective. (I also am not married and never have been so take it for what you will) IF she is repentant of her actions and is willing to break off the relationship, then I would not be so hasty to divorce her, regardless of whether or not...
