How should we think about our prayers and should we always expect them to get answered? If I say a prayer and have doubt or expect it will take decades for it to get answered, will it create an issue in God's eyes?

Please pray for God to destroy the spirit of anger inside of me. When something makes me angry I also internazlize it because I don't have any confidence or self-esteem, so I don't stand up for myself. Then it eats me up inside.
