Pro-life discussion: Adoption alternative to Abortion - Is it viable?

Well I am sure things could be made easier to facilitate adoptions when that is the mother's choice ... but perhaps we can and should do more to encourage young women to keep their children rather than looking at it as always in the best interest of all that the baby be adopted out simply...

    Obama's stupid passport.

Where I work we check credit and mvr's (driving record) and we are not allowed to even check our own record ... if it isn't for business don't do it. THe guys in this who were fired knew better, had signed statements saying they would not check people's personal information outside of what was...

Why McCain is unfit to be president

Unfortunately any progress on abortion is slow, then negated in an instant when the other party comes into office instead. Then lather, rinse and repeat.Best example, and local, is Phil Kline gets a good start at actaully taking on a late-term abortionist (this abortionist was the doctor the...

    I just can't forgive God ...

I do feel for you Jason ... I went thru a low before I came back around and eventually converting to Catholicism. Have low days still. I'm going to be getting a guardianship to take care of Matt's affairs for the rest of his (or my) life March 19th ... and only about 5 years until I'll need to...

Catholics Take Note: McCain, Huckabee Vie for Bigot's Support

Took me a half hour to load that Huffington site.... so looks like he found out Friday and they have said they don't agree with all he says, which is more or less what he said about Cunningham. Just don't say it on my time, my event, but he defended Cunningham's right to do so on his own program.

Catholics Take Note: McCain, Huckabee Vie for Bigot's Support

Well, I don't know that McCain specifically knows what Hagee preaches in this regard, I doubt he even knows of the "open letter" unless someone bothers to inform him of it. (Huckabee I would think might have a better chance of knowing something of that nature.) Still, I didn't know of this...

Republicans - here is what I want to know...

McCain still publicly states he believes waterboarding is torture and his vote is saying that if it is legal, not otherwise stated specifically in the manuals, and doesn't violate internation conventions then the "harsh" -but not illegal and immoral torture methods- should be available to use...

Fr. Pavone- What if Both Candidates Are El Sucko?

We're not even close to voting between Hitler and Stalin and utterly an impossibility in that case as they weren't from the same country. Still, Hitler came to power by popular vote and most dictators have those occasional forced yes or no votes, which maybe a no vote should be cast. Also...

    Prince Harry in the War.

Send him home for the safety of others and now that they know he is there for his safety as well. By the way, what a wonderful young man he appears to have grown into ... too bad he isn't the older one and more likely to have a shot of being king someday.

Republicans - here is what I want to know...

He is against torture because he spent 5 years in the worst of POW camps ... and he also believes torture to get information is self-defeating because you get part truth and part lie and they will say what you want to hear even if it isn't true just to get you to stop. McCain is not RINO -...

Republicans - here is what I want to know...

I don't have a lot of time but I will say generally that if a person is pro-life then I tend to agree with them on the majority of other issues. To McCain specifically I am glad he is reasonable on immigration, understands that we need to look also to our relations with the Spanish speaking...

    For Catholic Voters

I expect Huckabee will still draw votes up until McCain actually has the nomination, but I don't expect this will go to the convention. In some ways I think good he is staying in to give some attention on the republican side as the democrats are still battling it out. Still looks like it...

    For Catholic Voters

Actually I thought that some feel McCain falls short (or at least not as strong as wanted) on two of those five non-negotiables: 1) stem cell - need to check but might be similiar to Bush on allowing those already being used from aborted fetuses and perhaps federal funding of such 2) homosexual...

    Take the "other side" . . .

Don't know if I have time to fully participate but might try to throw something in at random once you get started. Not sure what the opposite of my opinion is on some issue though. :)

Cardinals Hoping for a 5th Marian Dogma (2)

I see why this thread was started, to get some action going. Can hardly keep up reading. Anyhow, one thought for me is that when Jesus is told his mother and brothers and sisters are wanting to see him he says (paraphrasing here) "Who is my mother, who is my brother? .. He who does my will."...
