I am a friar in the Province of St. Martin de Porres of the Order of Preachers. I was originally baptized a Catholic as an infant, but from an early age I was raised a Southern Baptist. During high-school, I rediscovered Catholic Christianity and made the decision to come home to the Church and receive all the Sacraments of Initiation. I completed that journey at the age of eighteen, and immediately began to feel the call to the priesthood. Having known of the Dominicans even as a Protestant due to my historical studies – and being drawn to their spirituality of theological orthodoxy, preaching, and contemplation – I made the decision to join the Order of Friars Preachers. My interests include liturgy, reading fiction and nonfiction, writing, teaching, zoology, Biblical studies, Patristics, theological research, historical research, ancient & medieval philosophy, and the mystical traditions of Christian prayer.
The opinions and statements made by me on this forum – unless stated otherwise – are to be considered my own and not necessarily representative of my Province, my Order, or anyone else.
