To those of you who are literalists - are not you concerned that you might be wrong? Go to any website for ex-Christians and see what they are saying. You will see that one of the main reasons for people leaving the faith, or not becoming Christian in the first place, is the sheer inconsistency...

If a person gets one thing wrong, does that mean everything they have ever said is wrong? If that be so, nobody would listen to anyone!

Parents let go, but not forever. You can't let go forever, letting go is a one time thing. You let something go, and maybe it stays gone forever, or maybe it returns. Does God let go and then turn His back forever, or does He await our return, for as long as it takes?
