Abortion: Personal experience and Social policy

Wow. Perspective. Anyhow, I'm pretty much done here. You knocked up your girlfriend, consider it society's fault that you can't have all the hedonism you want with no consequences, killed your child rather than take responsibility, and then brag about it on the internet for kicks. I'm...

    Whom would you vote for?

I'll go with candidate B, as long as he kills social security AND cuts medicaid.

Abortion: Personal experience and Social policy

You're conflating two different things. Abstinence IS a sure fire cure. You do not get pregnant if you keep your legs closed and/or your important bits in your pants. I haven't heard of a reliable case of immaculate conception in oh at least 2000 years. Abstinence education is not so...

Abortion: Personal experience and Social policy

Glad we cleared that up, so apparently you are knowledgeable about where babies come from. I agree with Panzer however, there's a really fantastic way to keep unwanted pregnancies from occurring for absolutely zero dollars. Of course it requires you to put responsibility before pleasure...

    Hillary brings up assasination.

He's being honest. Does it make any rational sense to you that a presidential candidate would have the same strict level of security as the sitting president?

Abortion: Personal experience and Social policy

Hey jgarden, how about you post those stats again, seeing as you've been posting them for the last THREE YEARS I've been on this board, and don't seem to have any new material prepared?

    OK, now I am annoyed

I disagree. We don't have enough refineries, we don't tap the resources we have by drilling, we have to deal with ridiculous state-by-state blend requirements that bog refining down even more, AND stupid government taxes because god FORBID a company might profit by doing something profitable.

    Hillary brings up assasination.

I think she has a point, which is basically she's still in the race because the race is not yet won, and stuff happens in the last stretch. She just put it in the *worst* possible way with the worst possible connotation. Hopefully she had a pedi before sticking her foot in that far... The...

Abortion: Personal experience and Social policy

Are you denying that women's bodies are structured to conceive and bear children?

"Why do you hate rich people?"

Hey, politicians are involved, doubt is off the table.

"Why do you hate rich people?"

Ooof, good point. I thought monopolies were supposed to be bad things. At least with required auto insurance I: A) Get my choice of companies, so that they are forced to compete. B) Do not have to pay for insurance for those who choose not to get it themselves. (One could of course make the...

"Why do you hate rich people?"

Why should anything on an individual (rather than federal, specifically) be required to be fair? For instance, I am not tall and thin, I was not born that way, the circumstance is out of my control. There are lots of women who get things that I might want, and this does in fact include jobs...

"Why do you hate rich people?"

National Geographic is in love with preserving native cultures that really don't do very well for their peoples. Check out last month's issue's article on Bhutan for a good example. You could also frequent an academic library (or my bookshelf right here), for a copy of Ter Ellington's "Myth of...

"Why do you hate rich people?"

Same thing I would do basically: I'm college educated, I make a very good living though we still struggle to make ends meet in this area. I would dig graves with a spoon before taking a single welfare dime. I would go to work doing the smelliest nastiest thing imaginable before I gave up...

"Why do you hate rich people?"

I know I"m late here, but seriously... The native americans lived under semi-constant threat of starvation, depending on their area and particular culture, of which there were thousands. Life sucked, people didn't live past 40, entire populations were wiped out on a regular basis by disease...
