    The Abuse of Abuse

I hope you won't mind if I re-word you slightly: "The Church must begin to strive for authentic solutions to combat sexual abuse." In my opinion the solution will never come from above (the leaders), but must come from below (the members).

Think Twice (Maybe 3 Times) Before You Give In To Buying Girl Scout Cookies ~

If it was you that was being aborted I think you'd think differently.

Can You Have Salvation Without Repentance?

I think the Bible is abundantly clear--No salvation without repentance: "Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation." {2 Corinthians 7:10 NIV} "For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin (true repentance) and results in salvation." {2 Corinthians 7:10...

We’ve been reading Charles Darwin all wrong

At the risk of again being accused of quote mining , here's one that I think is worth considering: "Looking back through the prodigious vista of the past, I find no record of the commencement of life and therefore I am devoid of any means of forming a definite conclusion as to the...

Biblical reasons for divorce, is deception a valid reason ?

For me, even that's a hard one. The important thing to me in that one is--has she turned from that kind of lifestyle and will no longer live like that. At the same time--I can understand, and accept, that many people would believe that that's a lie worthy of divorcing over.

Biblical reasons for divorce, is deception a valid reason ?

I think this opens up a very difficult can of worms. (Or a dangerous slippery slope.) As I said in my first post--I don't think Jacob should have kept Leah. (Personally, I wouldn't have considered it a valid marriage.) At the same time--I certainly don't think that one can divorce their mate...

Biblical reasons for divorce, is deception a valid reason ?

I can't say I've ever found the answer to it in the Bible--but I don't believe I could have stayed married to Leah. ONE THING IS FOR CERTAIN--TWO WIVES IS UNBIBLICAL!!! To me, just because Jacob slept with her through deceit, doesn't automatically make her his wife. He loved Rachel. He worked...

    PopeWatch: Francis II?

If you mean Pope Francis, I agree. In many ways he's not even a true Catholic. (Looking back--I now think you meant Pope Francis' pick, not Pope Francis himself... Oh well.)

    PopeWatch: Francis II?

I think 64 is plenty old enough. You don't have to be 80 years old to have wisdom. Certainly at some age you start to decline.

    Evolution happens

I fully understand that. But you can go to youtube and watch it for free: Please, just give him a few minutes of your time. (Try giving him 10 minutes. Surely that isn't too much to ask.)

    Evolution happens

I think it's true, and right, and honest, that no matter what else Darwin says, it doesn't nullify his admission that to believe that the human eye evolved is--his words, not mine--"absurd in the highest degree." What it really shows is that humans will oftentimes go to "absurd" lengths in...

    Evolution happens

If you're open to hear the other side, here's something I think you'll find worth watching--and quite convincing (his DVDs on animals that defy evolution). The Evolution of a Creationist | Jobe Martin | Creation vs. Evolution

    Evolution happens

Hi Warden (nice to meet you), Darwin was a determined, committed evolutionist. So it certainly certain surprise one that he would find a way to harmonize what he observed with what he was determined to believe. What he went on to say in no way lessons the remarkableness of his admission (at...

    Evolution happens

Here's another remarkable quote: “One of the reasons I started taking this anti-evolutionary view, was … it struck me that I had been working on this stuff for twenty years and there was not one thing I knew about it. That’s quite a shock to learn that one can be so misled so long. …so for the...
