    Is abortion reasonable?

Or they do know scripture, and are aware that there is nothing in either the Old or New Testaments that mentions abortion.

    Is abortion reasonable?

Again I ask, what are the figures on that happening? By 9 months gestation any deformities in the fetus/baby would have been identified long ago, and if there were to be any risk to the mother it would already have manifested. How many times has what you are deploring happened?

    Is abortion reasonable?

Much as I disagree with you with regard to your proposed reforms, I do acknowledge and admire your consistancy. One more hypothetical- assuming said technology were viable, how would you feel about requiring the transplant of the fetus into the male partner in the case of consentual sex, where...

    Is abortion reasonable?

But an ensouled being would be killed! A being that is now, like it or not, dependent on her. Why is it acceptable to kill in one situation but not the other? Rights are legal creations. As the law stands, consenting to sex does not mean consenting to pregnancy. This isn't a viewpoint matter...

    Is abortion reasonable?

Out of interest, does anyone have any figures on the number of non-medically related third trimester abortions? Where the fetus is healthy and the woman is not at risk? If the soul is scientifically proven, why do you feel that the woman's consent with regard to sex would be relevant? No. She...

Do we, as human beings have to support this?

He isn't claiming disability on account of his 'adult baby' lifestyle, but on account of actual mental and physical disabilities. Either of which could- and apparently (according to the relevant agencies who investigated his claims) do- prevent him from being able to hold down long-term employment.

    Vote Yes Admendment 26- Mississippi

ALL deaths are investigated, to a greater or lesser extent, and the results of that inquiry determine whether or not there will be a further police enquiry. If a child dies of leukemia, the oncologists confirm that the parents approved all reasonable forms of treatment, and the autopsy shows...

    Vote Yes Admendment 26- Mississippi

It would be difficult to prove intent... what about involuntry manslaughter, though? Or depraved indifference? There might be the potential for assault charges, too... :P

    Steve Jobs was adopted.

Generally I'd agree, but some people have genuine problems with spelling. As I mentioned upthread, my sister has dyslexic dysgraphia, and it's taken her a lot of work to get to the point where her writing and typing are even legible. With time, and effort, and a spell-checker, and a...

Off topic- do you have dyslexic dysgraphia? I recall you mentioning that you're left-handed in another thread, and IIRC there's a higher incidence of dyslexia, etc, in left-handed people. Your posts remind me of my sister's emails, and she's both left-handed and has dyslexic dysgraphia.

Ultrasound viewing part of NC abortion law blocked

Complexity and cognative ability, mostly. Fetuses don't have much complexity or any cognative ability, apparently. On a purely neurological level, a pig, cow or chicken is closer to a person than is a 12 week fetus- cognative ability doesn't develop till very much later. BrainMind.com...

    Is eating Cthulhu ethical?

For me, it comes down to speed of death and the pain levels involved. Which probably means I should re-think some of my seafood eating habits... :-(

    Is eating Cthulhu ethical?

Thanks for that. I used to like squid. Erm. In terms of ethics, it's about the same as running an electric current through frog's legs to make them twitch. Not actively unethical, I think, but I don't think I'd eat it. I find it personally disturbing (to be precise, it give me the screaming...
