Instead of just seeing a beautiful picture like this, I like to "read into it" a spiritual thought or two. What do I see in this picture? I see two destinations. One is the water itself. The other is what the path going into the trees leads to. To me, the water symbolizes Jesus, the water of life, who continually gives and sustains my eternal life, my fellowship with Him; and washes me from my sins, as well as quenches my thirst, and all the other wonderful things that natural water does for us.
To me, the woods symbolize the people of the world I live in. I have to leave that world, come through that world, to get to the water. After being refreshed, I leave that water and head back into the world with the sustaining power of that water. I carry some of that water with me to take to that world to offer it the blessings of it as well. There is a rocky area that must be crossed between this water and the world of the woods. Those rocks are reddish, reminding me of Jesus, who is The Rock, and shed that red blood to provide me with the Water of Life. It is not an easy path over those rocks, but they are crossable. It is not an easy path to come to Jesus finally to trust only in Him to be saved. It is not an easy path to go back into the world with the message of Jesus I have received, but it is crossable. I keep coming back to the water for refreshment, and I keep going back to the woods for ministry.
@Greg Merrill That's a really cool way to see that picture. It's almost like the reddish rocks that resemble Jesus are at the bottom of the pool, symbolizing that we build our house on ''The Rock'', He is the foundation we are building upon. I have been swimming in the nourishing pool, trying to repent and things right with God, and bring the water to the trees of the world.
@Multifavs Thank you, I'm glad you like it. I took this picture standing on top of a waterfall, the light was just perfect with the sun just barley hitting the trees and rocks from behind. It was a great swimming spot too
