  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

First off, thank you for answering my question.

I do not see how this is "ridiculous". It is certainly a partisan jab, I will give you that. But it is not like this is outside the realm of possibility given human nature. It was not that long ago that we saw atrocities ordered by world leaders and Trump has a history of skirting the law while demanding loyalty to his actions.

No, it does not. If it did then the exact same message that is included in every military recruits training would plant the seed. The thing I find telling is the lack of this outrage when a military commander refused to follow Biden's orders because he believed Trumps "big steal" lie.

No, that was not their intent. I don't think you are capable of discerning their intent as you are to far from what their reality is.
The intent was to do exactly what it did, trigger Trump and his supporters. If he had just ignored it and his supporters did the same we wouldn't have heard anything else about it.

If the allegations of the second strike on the Venezuelan boat is true, ie that Hegseth ordered, "Kill them all", then some service members do need the message.

I'm wondering now if that's not what was behind it.

I dont share your faith. I could well see "Secretary Of War" Hegseth applying various pressures to remove "obstructionist" individuals from the process to permit illegal or unconstitutional actions. Blowing up suspected criminal boats comes to mind as just an initial test of how far they could go.
He could go further--he could machine gun the survivors in the water.

Do you mean the one who was fought relentlessly for four years by Trump hating liberals, or the one who said to protest peacefully, or the one who recommended national guard troops for Jan 6 security and was ignored by certain liberals who had another agenda. The implication of your question totally ignores the reality of the situation that day. Yes,Trump was the President at that time but he was not responsible for the capital police person who planted two bombs and went on to work for the CIA. Trump was not responsible for the actions of Comey, Wray and all of the other rogue deep state actors who disgraced their offices and oaths by trying to do the very thing Trump was accused of by so many “over turning an election “. Much has come out and probably more to come about what really was behind Jan 6 and the sham Jan 6 investigative committee. The long standing liberal narrative of that is day is completely devoid of truth.
President Trump was “the ‘real victim’!” on January 6?
I see.

The initial test was renaming the Department of Defense. That was an explicit salient into the business of another branch of government, but the Congress appeased him. The Congress of the 1970s would not have let a president get away with that, even a president of their own party.

The last remnants of the Old Republic are being swept away.
