  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

“So, this is a Democrat hoax that never ends. You know, it reminds me a little of the Kennedy situation,” Trump said in the Oval Office, referencing documents related to the assassination of former President Kennedy. “We gave them everything over and over again, more, and more and more. And nobody is ever satisfied. From what I understand, thousands of pages of documents have been given.

“But it’s really a Democrat hoax, because they’re trying to get people to talk about something that’s totally irrelevant to the success we’ve had as a nation since I’ve been president,” Trump added.

While delivering these comments, very real victims of Epstein were speaking in a press conference.

"....survivor Jess Michaels.

“For 27 years, I thought I was the only one that Jeffrey Epstein raped. I believed I was alone, and I was kept silent by the shame that was inside me and by the fear outside in the world,” she said. “But I wasn't the only one. None of us were. And what once kept us silent now fuels that fire and the power of our voices. We are not the footnotes in some infamous predator’s tabloid article. We are the experts and the subjects of this story. We are the proof that fear did not break us. And we don't just speak for ourselves, but for every survivor whose story is still unspoken…. This is what power looks like. Survivors united, voices joined, refusing to be dismissed. Know this: justice and accountability are not favors from the powerful. They are obligations, decades overdue. This moment began with Epstein's crimes, but it's going to be remembered for survivors demanding justice, demanding truth, demanding accountability, and we will not stop until survivor voices shape justice, transform culture, and define the future. We are no longer whispers. We are one powerful voice, too loud to ignore, and we will never be silenced again.”

Meanwhile....

"Republican Representative Thomas Massie is leading the charge on moving for a House vote to release the Epstein files in full, following the GOP-led House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s lackluster release of more than 33,000 documents on the child sex offender Tuesday night, 97 percent of which had already been made public.

Representatives Massie and Ro Khanna had previously introduced a bipartisan bill in July to get the Justice Department to release the full cache of the Epstein files within a month. Then, on Tuesday, Massie filed a discharge petition."

The White House response?

"Helping Thomas Massie and Liberal Democrats with their attention-seeking, while the DOJ is fully supporting a more comprehensive file release effort from the Oversight Committee, would be viewed as a very hostile act to the administration,” a White House official said in a statement to CNN."

A very hostile act?

Donald Trump acts and sounds like a guilty man....

He does sound uncharacteristically desperate if not necessarily guilty. Like he might be protecting "important" people.

But his own little trail of evidence suggests he at least knew what was going on.

One of the most powerful statements made by one of the victims is the disclosure of their own list of perpetrators . Reminds me of what Jesus Christ of Nazareth said:

Luke 8:17
"For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open,"

Luke 12:2, "There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known."

After all, as they continually say "we are living in the end times".

Blessings

We all know Trump was involved with Epstein. I want the papers and names released, but I don’t think it will matter. The people always knew won’t be surprised and the ones who don’t want to believe it or have made peace with their guy being an associate of a human trafficker and a pedophile won’t care. It’ll be “it was different times” and “but look at how he’s atoned since” and “he’s still doing great work for the country” or “yeah but so-and-so and so-and-so were listed too.” The status quo is maintained, nothing changes, we all just end up looking at the people who defend it with more distrust and skepticism, and then move on with life.

I hope the victims follow through with their promise: Name them all.

Massie - looking to install another uber-conservative from Kentucky as party leader of one of our chambers?

Few people on the left care about the Epstein files. That's why we never made a big deal about it before. What we care about is getting Trump to follow through on his promise - or really, showing Trump's hypocrisy and possibly embarrassing whomever he's protecting. Many seem to believe that Trump himself is implicated in them. Personally, I kinda doubt that. I wouldn't be surprised if there was stuff in there about him that was unsavory or looked questionable (e.g. this supposed birthday letter), but I would be surprised if there were something directly implicating him in rape. But who knows, he's surprised me before.

Bill Clinton was a huge disappointment around issues like this. I'm glad he's in the rear view mirror, despite being a pretty good executive in other respects.

As for Trump, I do not think he should be shielded from whatever is in those files. Maybe its nothing. Maybe its something. Evidence so far suggests he at least knew there were some creepy things going on.

Yup and the Democrats, who were and still are actively finding anything and everything to charge Trump with had all the information and the authority to release it - and did not - gotta ask why?

Trump absolutely knew Epstein was shady - it is why he has Epstein banned permanently from Mar a Lago.

Most of the clamor for releasing the files can from far right corners. D's werent in the habit of gratifying far right people for no apparent good reason. Id ask: why does this even matter?

Trump absolutely knew Epstein was shady - it is why he has Epstein banned permanently from Mar a Lago.
Evidence suggests Trump knew something worth keeping secret was going on, and slyly encouraged it. Maybe the files will show otherwise. Maybe not.

Clinton said to release everything, since he had nothing to hide. Trump is the one suppressing it all.

This is a very easy fix but Trump just keeps smelling it up. None of the women mentioned him as an abuser, so what is his problem with releasing the full context?
