  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Your data for the estimated number of gang members in the USA is wrong (you said it was 255), and so is the data for the UK (you said 42), and so is the data for the Czech republic (you said 28). If you plot these data you get an intercept of 0.24, a slope of 0.0304 and a r2 of 0.93, none of which is close to what you presented earlier.

As I've stated elsewhere, yes, definitely. All of the transgender people I've met so far have been victims of childhood physical abuse, sexual abuse, or neglect. They also seem to be very, very vulnerable to depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorder. Passing, trying to figure out one's identity, and not being accepted socially can have further negative impacts. Then again, these kids are trying to do the impossible; change their sex.

The surge in gender dysphoria being diagnosed over the past 10-15 years is worrying. And the fact that many providers see a transgender label and transition as the solution to dysphoria is worrying. Living as the opposite sex didn't cure Aiden or Robin's depression, anti-social tendencies, or underlying fixations on violence. It's also quite possible that the stresses and tensions of how they lived (or cross-sex hormones, if taken) made their mental health worse.

Both things can be true. One can be a victim, and ultimately turn out to be an abuser / active shooter. Keeping transgender people safe should be a priority. Finding other ways to treat dysphoria should be a priority. Keeping people safe from mentally unstable transgender people should be a priority, too.
Did living as the same sex cure all cisgendered mass shooter's depression, anti-social tendencies, or underlying fixations on violence? It's also quite possible that the stresses and tensions of how they lived (or their endogenous hormones) made their mental health worse.

Now I see the confusion. You're talking about a shooting in Dayton, OH in a thread titled:

Mass Shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church/School in Minneapolis

In case you didn't notice, this thread turned into a debate about gun control by the time it reached the third page. The post I made about the shooting in Dayton was to another member 26 pages into what had become a gun control debate and was used to show how certain guns are part of the problem. To which you replied, "See, the police are the solution!" Which made no sense because even when police were on the scene when the shooting started, it still resulted in 9 people being killed and more than two dozen injured.

Since a much higher percentage of trans individuals commit mass shooting than the regular population, a much simpler and effective way to save lives is to stop the government from promoting transitioning to children and monitor those who have transitioned.
1) That is not true.
2) Nobody has EVER demonstrated any such thing because it is not a factual statement.

3) In comparison to what? Church Youth Pastors? Because you DEFINITELY don't want to bring THAT up.

There isn't any psych test that can accurately predict if someone is going to become a mass murderer.
Its not about deciding that. Nearly every mass murderer has a mental illness. So keeping guns away from the mentally ill would be the thing.
Millions of Americans are on psychotropic drugs and pose no risk. I do think red flag laws have some promise, though, if someone reports someone of concern.
Millions of Americans pose no risk at all for any reason. Yet we still have lots of gun deaths and it isnt stopping anyone from relying to limit their rights to a gun. What we do know is that the majority of these mass shootings or even self inflicted gun deaths are committed by those who have mental health problems and are often on drugs for the conditions. So, it we are really serious about this, limiting them from having guns will have prevented the majority of these shootings and will prevent a whole host of gun deaths.

I agree in principle. However, my point is that you have to somehow identify them. How do you propose we go about doing that? Obviously, we cannot rely upon a self-report check box on a firearm purchase form.

Twenty or so years ago it was publicized that ALL of the 'school shootings' were by a male under psyciatric drugs-care(misnomer)-on or recently stopped taking presciptions that were/are mind altering. i.e. a method never proven in truth or history to be healing; always shown to be harmful in more than just a couple ways.

1) That is not true.
Sad, but it is true. Compared to mentally ill and sexual deviants, healthy people are far less likely to shoot somone, let alone commit a big shooting of people event.
Saying it is not true is misleading by the mislead, or sum of such.

Why not bring that up? Big expose of groups of practicing sinful people may not help, because after all who cares, but better to warn families of honest people so they don't just continue trusting bad guys, eh ?

Did anyone in the world find a solution, anywhere, anytime ? Can the police or authorities even ever stop legal murder in hospitals and other protected medical protocols and clinics and agencies ?

If that were true then why are they victimized so much more?
Transgender people are over four times more likely than cisgender people to experience violent victimization, including rape, sexual assault, and aggravated or simple assault, according to a new study by the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law. In addition, households with a transgender person had higher rates of property victimization than cisgender households.

A real tragedy is how they are treated by society.

The number of trans people who were murdered in the U.S. nearly doubled between 2017 and 2021, according to data released Tuesday by the non-profit Everytown for Gun Safety. Of the total victims, 73% were killed with a gun.
Everytown's Transgender Homicide Tracker found that there was a 93% increase in tracked homicides of trans and gender-nonconforming people in the United States and Puerto Rico over the last four years. In 2021, 56 people were killed, compared to 29 reported deaths in 2017.
Notably, while only 13% of the transgender community is estimated to be Black, according to UCLA School of Law's Williams Institute, Black trans women accounted for nearly three-quarters of the known victims.

That's obviously untrue:

This report comes amidst an overwhelming wave of anti-transgender legislation. In 2023, for the first time in their 40+ year history, the Human Rights Campaign declared a National State of Emergency for LGBTQ+ Americans, in response to the over 550 anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced into state houses across the country, more than 85 of which were passed into law. This trend continued into 2024, where over 500 additional anti-LGBTQ+ bills were introduced, and over 40 passed into law across 14 states.

So, how about we pass the Red Flag laws?
Oh, yes if course you pull out incomplete statistical information. Its already been proven that the vast majority of assaults etc on trans people are done by their own LGBT community and not the rest of us or had NOTHING to do with them being trans.

They are not treated badly by society at large, but by their own group. The rest of us wish the radicals among them and the rest of the radical left on this issue would just leave us alone. WE DON'T CARE IF THEY ARE TRANS. Be trans, its no skin off our nose until they start trying to force the rest of us to treat them like the opposite sex when we know they are not. Leave our kids alone.

And God in schools does not prevent school shootings.
This just seen in another different thread with God's Word Solution for people , whether today, at other times only (perhaps not in the usa?) ....
This parashah starts off with; “Judges (shoftim) and officers (shoterim) (We could also call them police) shalt thou make thee at thy gates, which YHVH thy Elohim giveth thee…. they shall judge the people with 'righteous judgment…”

Many people, when they think of the word “judge,” think of the elderly man or woman in a black robe in the courtroom who points a finger and hands down a prison sentence, a sentence that condemns a criminal standing before the judge.
While it is true that the word “judge” can mean to issue or decide a sentence that could condemn, in Hebrew, it also means one who “knows, teaches, and decides issues related to the Torah”. A “shofet” was someone like a Torah teacher, but the job not only included making plain the teachings of Adonai through His Torah, but the “shofet” also rendered decisions based on God’s Holy Writ.

Some call them “gatekeepers” the “gatekeepers” keep in sound doctrine, and “do not let in” false teaching, or, have to “expose” false teaching that perhaps has been circulating.

2000 years ago, The Messiah Savior Son of God , with ABBA YAHWEH, continued to verify God's Word,
which is anti-sin always and forever. No sins forbidden in heaven then are okay now or in the future. So strict ? Even that not one greedy person will ever be found in heaven !!! And no adulterer.

Nearly every mass murderer has a mental illness.

So, it we are really serious about this, limiting them from having guns will have prevented the majority of these shootings and will prevent a whole host of gun deaths.
This is not true, and even when a mass shooter has been found to be suffering from a mental illnes, the mental illness isn't always the primary driver.

A look into the traits of a mass shooter

A Columbia University research study found that of the 1,800 mass murders, only 8% of all mass shooters were diagnosed with a severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia or severe bipolar disorder.

Mass murderers with psychotic illness are much less likely to use firearms, much more likely to use other methods," Girgis said.

His research, however, did find a larger percentage of mass shooters -- 25% -- suffered from less severe mental illnesses like depression and anxiety.

But that closely mirrors the general population.

Mass Shootings’ Relationship to Mental Illness

If all violence in the US that is due to mental disorders could be eliminated, 95% to 97% of violent behavior would remain.

There is agreement that serious mental illness does contribute to a subset of mass shootings, with a commonly referenced estimate of 20%, or 1 in 5 mass shootings. Although improving the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses should always be part of the conversation, there is a paucity of information about the 80% of mass shootings that are not a direct result of a mental illness. Notably, a joint consensus of 60 mental health organizations in June 2022, including the American Psychiatric Association, stated:

“Attempts to connect mental illness to mass shootings are a distraction that inflicts enormous damage by taking attention from solutions that could actually prevent such events. This perpetuates a false narrative that encourages stigmatization of and discrimination against the millions of Americans living with mental health conditions.”

Look at what God calls the primary driver in His Word. Such as "pernicious" , "death dealing", and "deceiving the whole world ".
At least it has been among the most prevalent of evil all of our lives and generation(s) before.
Not mental illness, no. But drugs.

The subterfuge and support of false narratives by so many that got Joe Biden elected resulted in over one million casualties in the Ukraine/Russia war (Joe was the catalyst, never would have happened without him),
Pure fantasy. Delusional take.

Leftist tripe. There is no anti-transgender legislation and no anti-lgbtq legislation. The Human Rights Campaign is nothing more than a radical leftist organization who supports the transition of our children and the radical transgender ideology.

There weren't enough laws passed in my opinion to protect children and women from these radicals. The laws that were passed were passed for the reasons I mentioned above. This radicalization of our kids and the attacks on the rest of us, forcing us to support and pretend that they are real women had to stop.

Allowing the mentally ill to take over our businesses, bathrooms, schools and sporting events was shear insanity. The number of kids who have been damaged by the lies of this ideology, the phony science and the guilting of the parents is incalculable. It has lead to the killing of children.
