Well, you had him for 4 years and we got approx. 9 million illegal aliens that entered the country, many with strong and long criminal histories. That probably doesn't bother you.....at least until the day (may it never come) when it descends directly into your life. We have had more than a few of our citizens murdered, assaulted and raped by these illegals; which is why we have immigration laws that say illegals get deported (criminal or not). We finally have a prez who is willing to enforce that law despite the efforts of the leftist progressives and the propaganda of the leftist media.

They already have something similar, although not a parade. The Navy Blue Angels have airshows which is how the Navy gets its parade.
Do you think $45 million for a parade once in 250 years is outrageous? A Blue Angels airshow costs $1,250,000 and takes place 60 times---every year. That adds up to $75 million per year. 18.75 Billion is what that comes out to over 250 years.

I’m not one who’s been wringing my hands over the cost of the parade. I think it’s dumb, but $45m (I’m assuming that’s accurate; I can’t be bothered to check) is a drop in the bucket as far as the military goes.

(ETA: Though, if DOGE is supposedly so intent on finding "efficiencies" that they're laying off thousands of people and cancel hundreds of contracts in order to squeeze pennies out of federal agencies, then this would seem like a profligate waste that suggests what the administration's real intentions are)

That said, the Blue Angels aren’t service-wide celebrations; they’re recruiting events executed by a small non-representative part of the service. And given how many people go to a typical Blue Angels performance, as a form of entertainment, they’re a FAR better value than this poorly-attended parade that nobody but Trump wanted.

At minimum, 5 million Americans, with no government funding, came out and let their voices be heard in over 2,000 communities across the country. In contrast, Trump's ego parade could not even fill the viewing stands.

My faith in my fellow-Americans is somewhat restored.

You may recall a Trump 1.0 event in Tulsa where he crowed about a million people signing up for tickets, only to find that the system didn't require any verification and the actual turnout was weak. Since the Trump team can't learn from its own mistakes, much less those of history, that seems to be part of what happened for the parade, as well.

No, I inferred I had issue with someone who rolls over like a puppy when bestowed adulation. You know, like flowery letters, saying nice things about them, and statements of how smart they are. Although irrelevant to what we're talking about, you don't understand your 9 million number. 9 million BORDER ENCOUNTERS mean just that and not illegal border entries.

As a matter of nothing more than anecdotal, someone asked some soldiers about their thoughts on participating in the parade and there deadpan response was "just another day in the army".

Trump is caught on camera wanting to be "worshipped" like in North Korea. It's not surprising he wants a military parade. I am delighted by the lack of effort put into this by your armed forces personell. I think they put in a bit more effort than was deserved for a draft dogding coward, personally.

Access is a better guarantor for action over voting and protests. For $500K you’ll get inside information on policy, finance, business opportunities and so on. That’s the way the world works. I don’t focus on headlines. I follow the money instead. The Bilderberg Group just concluded their meeting the other day. Agendas are determined in settings like that and dispensed to the appropriate parties. I’ll be digging into that while others are debating distractions. ;-)
