Yeah I would think longer than that as well. Be sure to keep us updated. I hope she is doing well in the meantime. Anxiety can be a bear when these things come up.They said around an hour. I suspect it will take longer, but what do I know?
My daily prayers are with you!Her surgery is scheduled for June 9th. We won't know any more until after that.
My wife went through menopause upwards of ten years ago. Last month, however, she experienced some vaginal bleeding, like she was having a period. To make a long story short, she has been diagnosed with endometrial/uterine cancer, which will require a total hysterectomy.
We weren't planning on having any more children anyway (ha, ha), so that part doesn't bother us. The hysterectomy doesn't bother her, either; the question now is how aggressive is the cancer, how far has it spread, or what are the chances of it spreading?
She is scheduled at this point to go in for the total hysterectomy early next month----uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix, lymph nodes, the whole nine yards, and once all that removed material has been biopsied, they will determine whether further chemo or radiation is warranted. The gynecological oncologist seems to be of the opinion that there won't be any complications with all this; hopefully that's so, but it remains to be seen.
If you could say some prayers for her, I would really appreciate it. She's doing okay with this; but she had leukemia as a child, and so she naturally has a certain amount of apprehension. I myself just don't want to lose her, if you know what I mean. But we won't know anything more until sometime after the 9th of June.
Thanks, guys, and blessings to one and all.![]()

Great news about the lymph node! Be assured of my continued prayers. Thanks for the update.Short update: Sharon had a biopsy done to a lymph node on her neck this last Monday afternoon. The results came back completely negative for cancer, so that's a hopeful sign; it indicates no spread of the cancer, God willing.
My niece is going to drive down next weekend and spend the night here with us so we all go in together on Monday. If conditions warrant Sharon staying in the hospital overnight, then my niece can drive she and I home if need be, because I don't see too well in the dark any more, and I don't like driving at night. I can do it, I just don't like to. Those oncoming headlights really bother my eyes. Continued prayers appreciated.![]()

A lot of people here have substituted barely legal LED globes which are super bright. I find I spend most of my time looking at the lane guide on the other side so I'm not looking in the direction of the oncoming traffic. Alternatively, just close your eyes and let your guardian angel do the drivingMy niece is going to drive down next weekend and spend the night here with us so we all go in together on Monday. Thanks Wols. Will be praying.Getting ready to head out for Sharon's procedure. (It's too early in the morning, moan!) I will give you updates as the day goes along.
Thanks again for the all the prayers. God bless all here.
Praying for a smooth procedure and a good outcome.Just wheeled her back for surgery. So now we wait for two to three hours.
I hate hospitals. It costs $15.00 for an aspirin tablet in one of these places.
Fantastic. Continued prayers! We just spoke with the surgeon---she said everything went swimmingly; all the diseased organs were removed robotically, no need for any large incisions. Sharon did well with the anesthesia, no problems. She is in recovery.
The surgeon said from what she saw, there was no spread of the cancer, so that's good news. They will send everything they took out to be biopsied, and we will get the results in a week or less.
So it looks like we'll be here for another couple of hours, and then we'll take her home and I get to play nursemaid, LOL.
