  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Where’s Joe Biden? As of writing this post at 2 am, there’s been no statement about the attack, not even a tweet. Who’s in charge of the White House? Does Joe Biden know there’s been an attack? In his last Oval Office address, Mr. Biden had a laundry list of items he thought he could get done, showing that he still had the mental capacity to carry out his duties. He needed to sound busy, but we’re on the brink of a second front opening in the Middle East between Israel and radical Islamic terrorists, and the president is AWOL.

Wait, I thought we were supposed to let the rest of the world police itself? Is that not the constant drum beat I heard on Ukraine? So which is it? Do you want the US involved in foreign affairs or not? This stance seems inconsistent.

Joe Biden has not said one word, publicly, about the recent attacks by Hezbollah upon Israel. Should the "leader of the free world" have the ability and the wherewithal to attempt to at least try to use diplomatic methods with the crisis between Israel and Hezbollah?

Hezbollah and Israel Are on the Brink of War...And the Biden White House Is Silent

Saturday evening, the Biden White House issued a statement condemning the strike.

"We condemn this horrific attack that reportedly killed a number of teenagers and children playing soccer on a Saturday evening in the village of Majdal Shams in northern Israel. Our hearts go out to the families of those who lost loved ones today, and we are praying for a speedy recovery for those who have been injured. Israel continues to face severe threats to its security, as the world saw today, and the United States will continue to support efforts to end these terrible attacks along the Blue Line, which must be a top priority. Our support for Israel’s security is iron-clad and unwavering against all Iranian backed terrorist groups, including Lebanese Hezbollah."

I have no idea where Joe is at the moment, cos I am not his advisor ;). But, I do know that not all Muslims support Hamas. For US Muslims, 10% are pro-Israel (while 58% are anti-Hamas). In fact, this African-British Muslim woman named Nimco Ali is pro-Israel. We Christians need to band together with pro-Israel Muslims to stop this war. That may be a solution to ending the war.

Pro-Israel African-British Muslim, Nimco Ali (Commentary piece, ad-blocker recommended, cos London Standard is full of ads):

And this guy, Zuhdi Jasser is a supporter of Israel:

Technically, that statement is from the White House. In my opinion, I doubt that Joe Biden was even allowed to have any input at all into the words and sentences of that White House statement.

Okay, something was said, but Joe Biden didn’t have anything to do with that statement!

There’s no pleasing some.

I'm still waiting for Joe Biden himself to make public comments about those Hezbollah attacks upon Israeli children.

Same. I want to see Biden on live TV condemning the attacks. In fact, I want to see all politicians from around the US and the globe condemn the attacks upon Israeli children.

The attack occurred in the Golan Heights and the children killed were Druze. Around 80% of the Druze living in the Golan Heights aren't Israeli citizens and still identify as Syrians.

I’m old enough to remember going weeks without seeing/hearing from the President of the United States but Trump was such a camera hog that some got used to a near daily dose of Donald.
Apparently the withdrawal is torture for many.

No, this is silly, the President has more important things to do at such a time than to placate news-junkies.
They’ve issued the statement why is that not ”enough”?

The written statement is good enough, though hopefully, he can make a live statement sometime this week though.

Nevertheless, the Druze children should not have beek killed by those stupid random rocket and missile attacks coming from the Hezbollah. I am still waiting for a strong statement of condemnation against Hezbollah from Joe Biden himself in his own words. But, I bet that I might see Hades freeze over before that happens. After all, none of the so-called strategies by the POTUS and his diplomats have been effective at hindering Hezbollah or Hamas.

Agreed. There has got to be a way to shut down these terror factions.

Sorry. You know nothing about what goes on behind the scenes.

I’m sorry, perhaps I am misunderstanding you, but the President of the United States’ job is to do things as he sees fit to do, (within the confines of the Law and the Constitution),
The President is only the “spokesman” for our Nation where he’s abroad, when he’s at home anywhere in the USA, he has an office that deals with communications betwixt himself and the public. They’ve issued a statement and that’ll be all he’s going to “say”, (for the present time, until he deigns to bless us with further news).

This chop-chop hurry up and do something so we can criticize how bad it is, is nothing more than rank, basic, partisan politics.

Please stop.
