I do not buy into the word of faith movement. I do like the law of attraction and see that as being compatible with the Bible.Would you consider yourself a Word of Faith believer then, given the terms you used, law of attraction etc?
Let me make this very clear. Everyone has something to contribute but ONLY Jesus saves us. If you are "Jewish", Hindu, Muslim, and so on. ONLY JESUS and the Blood of Jesus can save us. But that does not mean they have nothing to say or nothing to contribute. WE just have to be very careful to verify everything with the Bible. For one thing people do not realize where we get our Bible from.
There are three major versions of the Hebrew Bible: First, the Masoretic text or MT, the Septuagint or LXX, and the Targums. The Masoretic texts are based on ancient Jewish manuscripts, most of which come from the tenth and eleventh century CE. The Masoretic text is the most widely used text in today’s Jewish world.
If Moses lived 100 years ago. But the Bible only goes back 1,000 years then it was an oral tradition long before the Bible was recorded. We see this with Psalms 90 "written" by Moses. This means it was an oral tradition for 400 years before it was recorded and written as a Psalm.
Oral tradition played a crucial role in the formation of the Bible. Before the gospels were written down, Jesus’ early followers sustained his memory through storytelling. Imagine them gathered around dinner tables, sharing memories of Jesus—what he said, how he lived, and the transformative impact of his resurrection. These oral stories circulated, helping the community articulate their understanding of Jesus. For about 40 years after Jesus’ death, there were no written gospels.
