  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is this fake news or what ???
Of course it is. It's funny that some people thing some random person on X has some sort of inside scoop. X is full of this stuff. You have to be very careful about what you are looking at.

There is stuff on X that I've wanted to post but then tried to verify it veracity and could not. So I didn't. Apparently some dont care.

Very interesting briefing on conditions the hostages were kept in.....and it doesn't sound like it was all smiles and waving goodbye to terrorists like they were long lost relatives. That part starts at 1:50-5:30. I don't expect the hamas supporters/propagandists here to watch it. They don't want their fantasy land of unicorns and ice -cream mountains turned up-side-down.

Case in point to #1323.
Shame on the IRC for allowing this propagandist activity to be made. Once those hostages were on board they should have shut the doors and drove off.

Did the IRC have a choice? (surrounded by dudes carying AK-47's)

In any case, I think most people can see through Hamas' propaganda.

As bombs fell and tanks penetrated deep into Gaza in late October, Israeli President Isaac Herzog held a fraught phone call with Pope Francis.

The Israeli head of state was describing his nation’s horror over the Hamas attack on Oct. 7 when the pope issued a blunt rejoinder.
It is “forbidden to respond to terror with terror,” Francis said, according to a senior Israeli official familiar with the call, which has not been previously reported.

Most certainly, Hamas is propagating this hostage exchange, and to good effect, I might add. And unless my lying eyes have deceived me, facts are facts; these Israeli and Thai hostages appear to have been well-treated, unharmed and in good spirits. That, above all things, should be a relief for many in the West who stand with 'Israel'. ;)

Here are some pics of the freed hostages again just so we don't bury our heads in the sand again:

Israel Knew Hamas’s Attack Plan More Than a Year Ago

Israeli officials obtained Hamas’s battle plan for the Oct. 7 terrorist attack more than a year before it happened, documents, emails and interviews show. But Israeli military and intelligence officials dismissed the plan as aspirational, considering it too difficult for Hamas to carry out.

The approximately 40-page document, which the Israeli authorities code-named “Jericho Wall,” outlined, point by point, exactly the kind of devastating invasion that led to the deaths of about 1,200 people.

The translated document, which was reviewed by The New York Times, did not set a date for the attack, but described a methodical assault designed to overwhelm the fortifications around the Gaza Strip, take over Israeli cities and storm key military bases, including a division headquarters.

Somehow this “overreaction“ by the IDF and the Netanyahu government doesn’t seem so defensible.
They knew it was coming and they had already decided to go for a 10-1 ”kill-ratio”, because that‘s what they ended up with.

Israel's military said it had resumed combat against Hamas in Gaza on Friday after accusing the Palestinian militant group of violating a seven-day temporary truce by firing towards Israeli territory.

Despite all the blood-curdling rhetoric of Hezbollah and Iran, neither will attack Israel or U.S. assets in force, given no American president could afford not to retaliate disproportionately. And “disproportionately” would mean rendering Iran’s military and Hezbollah to something akin to the current status of Hamas.
So for now, Hamas and its American-residing apologists are full of themselves and feel they are leveraging and manipulating the West. But such haughtiness may be a delusion. Hamas in the Middle East and its enablers in Europe and America have done more to harm the Palestinian cause and the idea of Middle Eastern immigration to the West than at any time since 9/11.
It is hard to anger Westerners, but continue the death chants, the violent demonstrations, the creepy anti-Semitism, and the proud support for the Hamas bloodwork of October 7, and they will be surprised at the growing anger of otherwise postmodern Europeans and distracted Americans.
Just as Israel realizes that there is no living with Hamas killers, so the West is learning that it can no longer sustain universities that despise the culture that nourishes it or Middle Eastern immigrants, visiting students, and residents that use the gift of freedom and tolerance to promote their abhorrent anti-Semitism, violence, intolerance—and, yes, hatred of their generous hosts.
Indeed, I agree that to act "disproportionately" is, tragically, the best route to take against the jihadists.

No, I think they underestimated Hamas' capabilities. They got complacent.

Israel’s military says it has for the first time issued a numbered map “in preparation for the next stage of the war.” The “evacuation zone map” divides the Gaza Strip into zones with block numbers to allow residents to “evacuate from specific places for their safety, if required,” the Israel Defense Forces said.
The map, which does not yet include evacuation routes or instructions, was also issued in Arabic, with the message that those living in each block must “follow the instructions of the IDF through various media and obey them.”

Earlier reporting:

DUBAI — Israel intends to designate neighborhoods in southern Gaza as deconfliction areas as it restarts its offensive, and committed to Secretary of State Antony Blinken that it would not engage in the same type of large-scale bombing as it did further north earlier in the war, a senior State Department official said Friday, speaking on condition of not being quoted directly to discuss closed-door meetings with Israeli officials.
The official said that Israeli operations in the south would in some ways look like a counterterrorism operation, and that the Israelis committed to not attacking the urban areas of Khan Younis and Rafah at the level of intensity they attacked Gaza City in the north of the enclave, where more than 60 percent of residences are now estimated to be damaged. But if Israelis have senior Hamas leaders in their crosshairs, they are likely to target them even in areas they have designated as safe for civilians, the official said.
