In Quietness and Trust

In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and trust shall be your strength
(Isaiah 30:15)

Isaiah 30 is always a good place to come to when we are bothered perhaps by things within or the external circumstances of our life without. Quiet men and women of prayer are needed more than ever in this day. He is looking for those who quietly put their trust in Him, and walk by the Spirit.

When we can learn to sit in the fire of who we are and be still we will have accomplished much. To trust Him in that furnace shows Him great love. You are not perfected yet? Good, neither am I, let us trust Him together. Let us trust Him to do in us what we cannot do in ourselves. And let us trust the processes He uses to bring us there. He seems slow because He is thorough. He is ever perfecting us into the image of Christ. He knows what He is doing. He knows the Way to get us there. Just do the next thing He tells you to do. I will tell you no more. The safest place we can be are in His arms. There is no more capable place we can be than that. He knows the way we take. And when He has tried us we shall come forth as gold.

Are you anxious about the external things without? Do not seek the strength of Pharaoh or trust in the shadow of Egypt. The strength of Pharaoh shall be your shame and trust in the shadow of Egypt shall be your humiliation (Isaiah 30:3). God knows where His people are. What is He waiting for? He is waiting for you. Therefore the Lord will wait that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you... Blessed are those who wait for Him (Isaiah 30:18).

The world is what is. But Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose hope is in Him, for he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaf will be green. And will not be anxious in the year of drought Nor will cease from yielding fruit (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

Let us then be quiet and trustful. Prayer in the Spirit has the means of touching the ends of the earth and moving the heavenlies. Men will be Men. But the meek shall inherit the earth.
So let us pray.

He seems slow because He is thorough. He is ever perfecting us into the image of Christ.

Somehow, if we're contemplative, we come to know that perfection takes time. In this we must find patience and endurance. It has not been easy to do so.

The world is what is.

And it is a mess, virtually all of it. During His processes we come to see & understand more and more of this. It's not pretty. It and we need the Savior. It was never meant to be without Him.

Praying in the Spirit to me means praying in oneness with Christ. That it is no longer we who are praying, but Christ who prays through us. It is no longer our will being prayed, but His own. It is no longer our thoughts of what we think we ought to pray, or want to pray and then asking Him to bless that "In Jesus Name", being prayed, but His own divine thoughts and heart being prayed, thereby truly praying In His name.

Interesting thank you... I've had trouble praying because of my thoughts of not doing or saying the right stuff. One day, I was like OK God you want me to pray but what do you want me to pray for because I have no idea.. I got the answer but when the prayer wasn't answered I got upset wondering what was the point? (It triggered a past issue), I later understood what I should have prayed for concerning this person so it was a learning curve of me not jumping to conclusions so much when I don't have all the information.

Lately I have been fairly isolated and consumed again by my own problems so I've randomly been 'speaking' to God like I use to when I was young but I'm not all in yet. Slowly recognising I want tha change now because I've been going in a loop the past year it seems like.

I'm grateful to mature Christians such as you who have got me thinking a bit clearer about things again. Recently I was starting to feel disconnected like I use to be before God changed my heart after being saved.

Give yourself time Pipp it will come. But it will not all come in a day. Remember the little Spruce. You can only be where you are in the Lord today, no more no less. Just keep turning to God like you are doing. Tell Him you love Him throughout the day. That you desire to please Him in all things. Give Him thanks. Then take the time to be with Him. Tell Him you no longer want to live for yourself. You want Him to be in all things. About all things. Ask Him to bring you into the prayer He prayed in John 17. That your life would be one in His as His was in the Father.

I sense with all my heart He is in your life and at work in your life. You remind me so much of myself when I was younger, perhaps I will adopt you Ha!

He is good Pipp. Learn to accept all things from His hands. It is the sure path to peace. Do what He ask. Pray what He ask. And then leave it in His hands. He asks of you no more. Just trust Him with the results, whatever they may be. He knows what is best. Though we don't always agree. Love Him Pipp I will ask of you no more. If we do that it will be well.

Tell Him you no longer want to live for yourself.

Been doing that a lot lately.. realised finally my way has never worked, the things I've held onto were never enough. I never had what I truly wanted in life due to the baggage, but maybe I'll have everything I ever needed just surrendering and letting go...

The intimacy thing is difficult for me still have stuff to work through, this year has been filled with past trauma getting triggered.. I believe this is how God has been healing me, slow process. Today I was going back over my life again, where God was, I'm beginning to wonder if he was always there speaking but I didn't know enough or understand over the years.

Yes he really is so good, too good for me to comprehend why he kept giving me so many chances.. even currently, I find it mind-boggling.
I have this daily thought though that my time might be running short, I can't hold back in fear for much longer. Definitely feeling the pressure for change lately

Today I was going back over my life again, where God was, I'm beginning to wonder if he was always there speaking but I didn't know enough or understand over the years.

Time and time again I have looked back and seen God's hand in it all.

The depths of pain often lead to the most exquisite beauty. To lose everything and go onward is true faith and moves the heart of God.

I have this daily thought though that my time might be running short, I can't hold back in fear for much longer. Definitely feeling the pressure for change lately

Like God will leave me to my ways if I don't obey now or at least, very soon...

I've also got some of the religious spirit of my Grandmothers words in my head sometimes too.. 'obey'.

Still trying to reconcile in my mind the wrathful God with the loving God.

In my awakening experience there were things that keep us 'pulling away' from God. He is bringing everything back to himself, but if we keep resisting, eventually he will let go.

It is true the way we come into deeper revelation in God is to step through the door He is nudging us towards and go onward. I have always found on the other side of that door, deeper growth, and greater understanding of who He is. Even if we should make a mistake, I have found if our heart is truly set on Him, He will work it to His good. He has great compassion I have found for those who are truly desiring to be pleasing to Him in all of our ways. The old ways you view Him will have less and less hold on you the more you know Him. The catch 22 is you cannot know Him unless you are willing to be led by Him, and that does take obedience, but the irony is your obedience will become your greatest cure until you think of Him that way no more.
