Trump will be able to drag this out for years. His goal is to get re-elected so he can pardon himself if necessary. He and his GOP enablers are hoping they can get control of Congress and scuttle as much as possible.

It will be interesting to see if Americans conservatives will support a candidate who is being investigated for espionage. Conservatives need to look at themselves in the mirror and say those words out loud.

Well Democrats need to quit helping him. This has the appearance that no charges were going to come from the January 6th investigation and this was a Hail Mary. If he's reelected he can thank Garland and the FBI.

I don't think they will charge Trump with espionage specifically, even though it appears he did violate the Espionage Act, which includes taking top secret documents out of secure locations. As for Trump declassifying them, he cannot do that without documenting it somewhere while he was President. (He can't do it retroactively from the position of an ex-Pres.) Where is the documentation proving that he declassified them before he left office? That is going to be pretty hard to manufacture after the fact. And if the nature of the documents are such that no sane person would declassify them, then he is really sunk. But such speculation is still premature. Let's just wait and see how the investigation unfolds.

I always come back to this video, since it was one of the earliest, and most blatant, examples of how awful of a person Trump is. Mocking someone for a physical handicap is absolutely uncalled for. And yet time and time again I here his supporters twist themselves in knots for why this is ok or he didn't mean it or it wasn't to make fun of or whathaveyou.
