There are ten other states where the abortion rights are encoded in the state's constitution and would require a referendum to change them:

California
Arizona
New Mexico
Montana
Minnesota
Iowa
Massachusetts
Florida
Alaska
New Jersey

I would say that Kansas would have been the only one to possibly vote to leave the state ban in the constitution. All the others would almost certainly vote to maintain abortion rights, so I don't think that much will change.

Women in places like Texas and Arkansas will not get to vote on this. But...there may well be some GOP senators looking very nervously at the Kansas result and thinking that people now realise that there's more than one way to skin a cat.

I doubt that. In the end, people mostly vote with their money in mind. Abortion is generally seen as an "other people" problem, even by those who might need it or needed it in the past. Certainly a consideration, but not the deciding factor. And the GOP generally promises to fulfill people's greed.

I’m curious what you mean by “women will not get to vote on this.” On face value that is a ridiculous statement to make considering women can and do vote in elections. And I’m not sure you understand the news article, Kansas didn’t vote to ban abortion access, the state voted to uphold and keep access to abortion.

You make contradicting statements here. The left is the party in America that offers the masses free everything, so if people vote with their money in mind, they vote for the left. Which does make sense considering most I know who are greedy vote for whatever Democrat or left leaning politician is on the ballot. I have a sister who once told me she didn’t care about anything but what politican could offer her in the way of handouts, and whichever one that was would get her vote. Turns out it was Obama. So again, false narrative that people who are greedy vote for the GOP.

The left promises to help the poor achieve a tolerable living standard.

The right promises to help the company that the poor will someday own.

I remember some slime ball Democrat President who kept sending people free money and even had the audacity to have his signature put on the check.

That’s not what you said though. You said people mostly vote with their money in mind… the GOP promises to help fulfill people’s greed. Again, since I’ve been alive (38 years now) the only party I’ve ever heard talk about “free stuff” is the left and that message absolutely is meant to feed into people’s greed.

Guess we'll have to see if the GOP realizes that their policy plans are not interesting to a majority of voters. They could change their goals to line up with what voters want and actually have a chance to win elections, or perhaps they'll continue doubling down on trying to outdo each other in how much they can alienate the voting public.
Seems like either way America wins.

I mean that they won't get the opportunity to vote in a referendum in states like Texas because abortion is not written into the state constitution. It is in Kansas, so a referendum was required to change the law. The people voted to maintain access to abortion. I was fully aware of that.

And they'll have to vote to change the laws in the states I listed. Although as they are reasonably liberal states and people are relatively happy with the laws as they stand, it probably won't be required.

But...the GOP will have seen the backlash against the SC decision in Kansas (it wasn't really expected) and may well be concerned about the midterms because of that.

Well, obviously states rights shouldn't be wielded by the unwashed masses.
Clearly we need some form of state level electoral college system to avoid something so crass as a majority of voters choosing such things.

The people have spoken!

Oh wait, this is America.

Dead in the Senate!
Thankfully the US senate gets no say in this state level referendum on the state constitution.

Wanting a decent living standard is not greed no. I think every human should have access to basic things that provide a decent quality of life. Education, health care included. I don’t think those things should be free, but the costs of such should be that anyone can afford them, especially health care.

The other bit of your statement can absolutely be twisted for greed. “Wanting nice things” is absolutely the statement of greed.
