Some of the views of the four "conservative Christian patriots" who are trying to take over the board of the Sarasota Hospital--up until now ranked as the sixth best in Florida.

If this hospital fell into the hands of these renegades, would they even qualify for accreditation? Would insurers pay for patients' stays there? Would they decline to provide some services they are legally, as a public hospital, required to provide?

Honestly, the basic problem with all of these positions is that they require ABSOLUTELY NO demonstration of knowledge of what you are leading.
Don't put a scientist in charge of the FDA or EPA. Don't put a doctor, or anyone with deep medical training and medical knowledge in charge of a hospital. But a [whisp of air and breathy voice] "business man", well they know enough about everything because they can run a business. And if there's one thing I know about running a business, it's that, if you've ran one business, you've run them all. Who cares if you don't have the first clue of what C++ means, that doesn't mean you should not be CEO of google!

I am also concerned that women who miscarry might be given a hard time in such a hospital by personnel directed to look for signs of a self-induced miscarriage even when none exist.
If, for example, an addict miscarried, would she be deemed to he guilty of child neglect? Sadly, an addict can't just turn off an addiction on command. In a hospital run by zealots, a pregnant woman who jogged or didn't seek medical attention quickly enough *(although uninsured) could be a target. I am repeating actual concerns of younger women, not spinning my wheels.

If they want to take over the board they will have final control over every major decision, personnel included.

When Rohe said vaccine mandates were government's attempt to own your body that was conspiracy theory, not science.

The definition if assault is "a physical attack." Is the weapon for target practice? Hunting? No. Its purpose is physical attack. Almost every major school shooting was committed with an AR-15.

In order to “steer” a discussion, a reinterpretation of the facts can set the “mood”.
