Saint Philip of Moscow, pray for the servant of God Peter!

Lord, have mercy!
I’m assuming you mean me, so thank you!
But my name is not that of the great Apostle, honestly.

I present to you a special prayer for the salvation of the prisoners of hell. I suggest to those who pray to make at least 3 ground prostrations so that our prayer might be intensive. It's also beneficial to give alms for the repose of the departed. It is also important for us to be virtuous ourselves, having a clean conscience, so that our prayer may have great success with God.

Merciful God and our Heavenly Father, in the inseparable Trinity eternally worshipped and glorified Father, Son and Holy Spirit! Give rest, O Lord, to the souls of your departed servants who did not reach desired salvation and rest in your Kingdom and who were cast into hell, the underworld place of darkness, fire, firestorm, cold, stench and unbearable pain and mercilessly tormented by evil, man-hating demons. First of all, we ask Your goodness to remove from hell, save from torment and grant eternal peace to all those who believed in your Gospel of the Kingdom, the Last Judgment and the resurrection of the dead, and wished to be saved, doing good for the salvation of their souls, but due to their ignorance, delusion, laziness, indolence, neglect of oneself, forgetfulness, despondency and being rooted in vice, could not live this earthly life worthy of a Christian, sinning or not acting according to Your will in something. We are begging You to save the children who were deceived during life by adults, who sinned and died because of their fear of demons or imitating the sins of adults. We pray to You also for all other souls who perished in hell and even found themselves on its very bottom, for all those whom it is possible to pray for and for all those for whom You are pleased to accept our prayer. Having put off flesh and carnal worldview and being temporarily spiritual bodies, they now see the whole truth, realness, reality of God and Your justice, of good and evil, virtue and sin, eternal reward, they now know all the truth about themselves as well. Now they sincerely and constantly repent, humble themselves and want to get a second chance to do good and inherit eternal salvation. But not receiving it, they mourn heartbreakingly, wanting our prayers for them. We forgive all their sins and do not hold them as our debtors, because we ourselves are worthy of hell for our sins and selfishness. We ask Your goodness to ease their pain or to save them altogether, so that they may also pray for us in Your Kingdom, as our brothers and sisters in Christ or in Adam, and eternally glorify Your love and kindness with the angels for Your joy and delight, together with us praising and blessing eternal name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, now and always and forever and ever. In the name of Jesus Christ hear us and fulfill our prayer, amen.

I’ve been there. Depression sucks. It’s a thing of resist and hang in there. Hold on to the Jesus prayer. Look at a beautiful sunset or picture, and suck on chocolate. It works against (real-life) Dementors. Prayers for you.

I could use prayers myself, if you can. Facing going back into a dark situation today.

Please pray for me (I was chrismated as Guillame after St. Guillame of Gellone, but my main first name is Eugene), for someone broke into my house a few weeks ago and was arrested, but I was so terrified that my heart rate hit 173 and I had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance. My blood pressure and heart rate subsequently stabilized and the EKG was normal aside from the tachycardia, but the bloodwork did indicate one enzyme present which is correlated with myocardial infarctions (heart attacks). The hospital wanted me to stay for more tests such as a cardiac ultrasound, but I had no one to take care of a relative and she could not remain with me, because due to Covid visitors are not allowed past 8 PM, and unfortunately I have not been able to arrange to go back there. I do have a congenital disease called Marfan’s, a mild case of it, but it does put me at increased risk of coronary artery.

More important than me, however, are these people who need prayers:

Andreas, whose mother is sick with an unknown illness, and who has chronic back pain (I don’t know the name of his mother)
Michael - Severe Scoliosis
Steven - Stage 4 lung cancer that has metastasized to the liver and elsewhere
Andrew - Pancreatic cancer
Carol - Neuropathy from back injury
Gregory N. - poor health
Gregory L. - fell and injured his eye
Richard - Irreversible neurological illness causing dementia
Steven - Retired priest, who has become blind due to optical nerve disease
Devin - Catechumen interested in monasticism, whose mother reposed last year

And also prayers for the repose of Esther, Ruth, Darl, Wendell, Marjorie, Clara, Jean, Charles D., my godfather Eugene, my godmother Anna Marie, Burleigh, Francis “Sherman” Lewis, Paul, Lawrence, Leo, Frank, Beatrice, Nancy, Lee, Jack, Douglas, Charles S., Ephrem, and James.

All of these people are either baptized Orthodox Christians or catechumens. If they could be commemorated in the Proskomide, or at another suitable point in the Divine Liturgy or other divine services such as an Akathist, that would be greatly appreciafed.

Also please pray for the people in Britain contending with the severe fires, and any victims and their relatives.

I have arrived safely home through the gauntlets, missions accomplished, and offer up a prayer of thanksgiving. Glory to God!!!

The darkness isn’t over. Bigger tests are coming. But grateful to have this one behind me.
