I guess the Buffalo shooter was heavy into this theory. I am wondering how many of the CF faithful are proponents of this theory. Do you believe in Tucker's Great Replacement theory? If so, why? If not, why?
The “great replacement” theory, in simple terms, states that welcoming immigration policies — particularly those impacting nonwhite immigrants — are part of a plot designed to undermine or “replace” the political power and culture of white people living in Western countries.

You could put on a Poll onto your OP post to get more to answer your question. (I'm unfamiliar with whether one can be added after making the OP post. if not, you could also post a new thread that does have a poll)

The data says otherwise. Fertility is the culprit. Not immigration.

I try to stay out of political discussions as they are rather pointless and I'm likely to have a more productive conversation talking to a stone wall, but I'd like to say here that my view on immigration policy is it should not violate the laws of the land. I understand people are frustrated with how slowly immigration systems work, but that's no excuse to circumvent the law. If people want to immigrate to the US or any country really, I'm all for it, but do it legally. If people are outraged about current immigration laws being slanted or unethical or whatever, then go about the process the right way and enact laws that offer quicker turnarounds and more ethical outcomes. I don't see myself as viewing incoming foreigners as bad or unworthy of my neighborly charms, so I don't see how I would fall into this theory or whatever. But the awful thing about the current political environment is just by making that statement there are some who would jump to conclusions and accuse me of racism and bigotry. Not here necessarily, but it has happened.

A lot of people (on all sides of the spectrum) only care about their particular slant to this discussion.

Yes I don't really see it as a big conspiracy theory but a fact or at least an Occam's Razer type deduction, especially the disdain that main stream democrats often have for the white working class that are not part of their narrow little coalitions, e.g. specific labor unions that have supported them for decades.

Also I would not lay the shooting at the feet of Tucker because the shooter was also spouting out paranoid stuff about Fox News was behind some nefarious plot to get him that sounded a lot like something that came from MSNBC or Jim Acosta or the ladies of the View.

There is no conspiracy. Birth rates suggest the U.S. is on a path to have Caucasians as an eventual minority. That isn't a border problem. If one needs a reason to start treating minorities better (and they shouldn't need a reason) this would seem to be a pretty good one -- because one's majority status could be a fleeting thing.

Yes. Why wouldn't you? It's well known Democrats have been cheering for an increase in minority - whether due to birth rates or immigration - to flip Texas, Florida, etc. Just like it flipped California, Virginia, etc. Plus the more immigrants you have, the more you can diversify (aka divide) the country, the more people think immigration is a top issue, the more problems it creates (Democrats create problems so they can propose solutions to them)

I dislike Republicans saying this is the only reason to dislike mass immigration, it's not.

No, replacement theory is pure racism because it assumes minorities won't vote Republican. If that's true, and minorities won't generally vote Republican, then it shows that the problem with the GOP is white supremecy. At any rate, it fails to acknowledge that voters vote according to what they think is needed. If the GOP wants more diverse voters they should have a platform that appeals accordingly (of course, they might not want a diversity among voters). They really should quit trying to win elections by fostering fear, gerrymandering and limiting immigration. They should try having a platform that appeals to Americans, in general, and they will win.

Hermit, stop whining about gerrymandering in all these political threads. Both sides do it. You can't pretend to take the moral high ground on it.
...such as?
For one, you always hear Democrats whining we do nothing to help people already here.

My question was whats a problem created by immigration. Not whats a problem created by people already here.

Don’t be ridiculous. This is a deranged vile racist conspiracy theory that I’m sure is beneath the dignity of anyone who frequents this website.
Half right.

Search my comments. I'll bet this is the first time I have used that word; I'm almost certain. I had to look up how to spell it. Also, I don't whine. If you disagree, that's fine with me, but there is no whining on this end. How about you address the larger point I was making? Do you think replacement theory is grounded in the fear that minorities, and immigrants who are minorities, will not vote Republican? I think so, but I will listen if you have a good argument.

This " theory" is not a theory, it has existed for centuries. Maybe those who have always harnessed this sentiment will be convicted by His Holy Spirit. I pray for that :prayer:

Me too. I love everybody. I don't like the, us vs. them mantality. The US has become less like a melting pot and more like a tossed salad. Different flavors that make up a delicious dish.
