Yikes, this is a lot of information. Lots of talk about following God's Word but seemingly little accurate understanding of it. Not to mention scriptures tell us to follow the Holy Spirit... those who are led by the Spirit are the children of God. Romans 8:14

TIME TO UNLEARN THE LIES ABOUT GOD’S WORD

Welcome dear friends. May God bless you as you seek Him through His Word.

All you have to do is turn on the news today to see that the signs of the times of the end of the world are being fulfilled in quick succession. Nearly everyday we see wars and rumors of wars, pestilence has been ravaging the world already for some time in many forms and of more recent COVID-19, natural disasters are happening more severely and in quick succession. God’s judgements are coming to all those who do not believe and follow His Word.

According to the scriptures just prior to His coming there will be two classes of Christians. All fall asleep while waiting for the bridegroom. One class purchased extra oil without money and without price and when the call was made to go out and meet the bridegroom, they trimmed their lamps (the Word of God) and went out to meet Him. The other class we are told did not purchase enough oil and when the call was made their lamps went out and they were sitting in darkness and could not find their way because the road was too dark and narrow until the door was shut and when they arrived, they were locked out of the marriage and lost everything because God did not know them.

Likewise, we are told that Babylon has fallen representing fallen Christianity that promotes man-made teachings and traditions over the Word of God. Jesus is calling us all out to trim our lamps to get ready for the marriage where Jesus will marry (unite) with His bride (the Church). Only those who purchase enough oil (faith in Gods’ Word to receive His Spirit), will be able to find their because they trimmed their lamps (know the truth of Gods’ Word) to find their way to the marriage when the call is being made because the road is dark and narrow. The call is being made today dear friend. Have you trimmed your lamps? Do you know the truth of Gods’ Word or are you following in the lies we have been taught from the teachings and traditions of men that have led “the many” away from Gods’ Word to break the commandments of God leading many to sit in darkness when Jesus is calling us all back to His Word to worship Him in Spirit and in truth?

These are questions we must all ask ourselves personally and only we can personally answer them prayerfully asking God are we ready? Do we know the truth of your Word Lord? How do I know that I am following God’s Word and not the man-made teachings and traditions of men that have led “the many” away from God and His Word to break the commandments of God? The latter according to Jesus are not worshiping God according to the scriptures (Matthew 15:3-9) Jesus is calling us all and says the hour is coming and NOW IS, that the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him MUST worship him in spirit and in truth. God is calling us all back to His Word to worship Him in Spirit and in truth.

This thread is about unlearning the lies we have all been taught in Sunday schools and in regard to “Sunday worship” Which is a man-made teaching and tradition that has led many away from God and His Word.

...............

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION?

1. What are the lies we are being taught in Sunday school in regards to Gods' 10 commandments?

2. Where does it say in the scriptures that Sunday is "the Lords day"?

3. Where does it say in the scriptures that God's seventh day Sabbath has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest?
...............

It's time to unlearn the lies we have all be fed and to seek Jesus for ourselves through His Word asking Jesus to teach us His Word so that we can know the truth of His Word personally for ourselves. God promises all of us... "You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart." - Jeremiah 29:13. God is calling us all to return to Him because he loves us and is not willing that any should perish *2 Peter 3:9. He promises that "if any man wants to know the truth of Gods' Word they will know if we turn away from the teachings of men and seek Him for it *John 7:17. All we need to do is ask him and believe His Word and claim His promises (see also John 16:13; John 14:26; John 7:17; 1 John 2:27; Hebrews 8:11).

None of us should be afraid of coming to the light of Gods' Word to see if we are really in the faith of Gods' Word or not. Let God bless you through His Word. Friendly discussion please please provide scripture for your view.

May God bless you all as you seek Him through His Word.
Rom14 one man sees a day as special another see all the same . It’s not about what day it’s about the heart some may have more than one day be the sabbath. Jesus fulfilled the law now it’s not about keeping the OT law but being right in our hearts to God 24/7

According to the scriptures those who are born again in God's Spirit do not practice sin *1 John 3:6-9 and no one has Gods' Spirit if they do not believe and obey what Gods' Word says *Acts of the Apostles 5:31; Gods' Spirit is the Spirit of the Word of God *John 6:63 and works through the Word of God as we believe and follow what God's Word says. If you disagree with the posts and scriptures provided here your welcome to show why by the scriptures. Only God's Word is true and we should believe and follow them over the teachings and traditions of men that lead us to break the commandments of God *Romans 3:4; Acts of the Apostles 5:29. According to the scriptures, Jesus did not fulfill the law so that we are now free to break the law. Matthew 5:17 tells us not to even think these thoughts. Jesus is telling us not to even let that enter into our thoughts and goes on in Matthew 5:17-28 to magnify the laws requirements to our very thoughts and feelings saying not to even think that he is abolishing the law and the prophets. He is not coming to abolish but to fulfill that is to do them and that not one jot of tittle shall pass from the law until heaven and earth passes away. I do not see this as happening yet dear friend do you?

WHERE IS THE SCRIPTURE THAT SAYS THAT THE LORDS DAY IS SUNDAY?

ANSWER
: THERE IS NO SCRIPTURE! Go look for it. Your challenge is to find a single scripture in all of Gods' Word that says Sunday or the first day of the week is "the Lord's day." The claim that Sunday is "the Lords day" are lies taught by the teachings and traditions of men outside of the scriptures that are not supported by scripture.

I guess I don’t understand the people who want to go back under law, the way I read scripture it says that when the New Covenant came that superseded the old I thought that was the whole point of the example of the marriage thing that once a spouse was dead you were released from that covenant and able to marry another. All the people I have known who were the go back to the law crowd always pick and choose what part they will follow I have yet to find any who follow the whole law.

According to the scriptures, no one is "under the law" unless we stand before God guilty of breaking the law according to Romans 3:19. If anyone is knowingly breaking the law according to the scriptures, they are sinning against God because sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4) and it is through the law we have a knowledge of what sin is *Romans 7:7. According to the scriptures we are to walk in the Spirit *Galatians 5:16 and live in newness of life *Romans 6:1-23. Sin will keep all those who knowingly practice it out of God's kingdom according to Hebrews 10:26-31.

  • Whoever will break the least of these commandments and teach men so will be the least in God's kingdom (the least are those who do not go there see 1 John 2:3-4)
  • Whoever obeys and teaches the law will be called great in God's kingdom - Matthew 5:19
  • Jesus taught that fail and obedience to Gods' law is required to receive eternal life - Matthew 19:17-21; John 3:36.

  • We should not break God's Law if we are under grace - Romans 6:15
  • We are to serve the Law of God through the mind because that is where sin starts - Romans 6:17; 7:25; 8:4; 12:2

  • If we break God's Law and are in unrepentant sin we will be lost and will received God's judgements - Hebrews 10:26-27
JOHN said...
  • John says it is only by keeping God’s 10 commandments that we know that we know God (1 John 2:3)
  • If someone says that they know God and do not keep God’s 10 commandments they are lying and not telling the truth (1 John 2:4)
  • We should purify ourselves as Jesus is pure (1 John 3:3)
  • Sin is the breaking of God’s 10 commandments (1 John 3:4)
  • Whoever is abiding in Christ does not commit sin (1 John 3:6; John 15:4-10)
  • If you are in unrepentant sin you have not seen Jesus or know him (1 John 3:6)
  • John warns us that only those that are obedience to God’s Law are his true followers (1 John 3:7)

  • God is not willing that any should perish but that everyone should come to repentance and turn away from sin to follow God’s 10 commandments because those that do not will receive the judgements of God 2 Peter 3:5-14
JESUS AND THE APOSTLES OBEYED AND TAUGHT THE SABBATH saying...
...................

As shown above pretty much the whole new covenant teaches Gods law. Perhaps it is time to rethink what you believe and receive Gods' Word as a blessing from God to you. The above I hope is helpful only as it also shows that your earlier claims and understanding as to what the covenant were is not biblical. The old covenant includes the Mosiac book of the covenant (Exodus 24:7) which included the "shadow laws" for remission sins that are obsolete while Gods' new covenant has God's laws written on the heart through faith and still the standard of good and evil in the new covenant.

Now what do you say dear friend?

Take Care.

If you do not agree with any of the posts and scriptures shared with you here then your welcome to prove them wrong. If you cannot than what excuse so you have not to believe them?

My excuse? For starters, I disagree with the ease in which you think you can pick up and read the Bible. It's clear that there's a difference between posts and Scriptures. Your posts, like those from anyone else, can be a mixture of exegesis and eisegesis, and this is because none of us can just flap open the Bible and shine it in other people's faces, claiming that it explains itself when it clearly doesn't in all cases.

I'm just the one to let you know that you're getting ahead of yourself, brother. That's all.

And you present too much at once. That kind of thing is usually called a 'snow-job,' and hardly anyone is going to take the time to read what you've printed. If I HAVE to do that, and IF 'truth' is presented by the pound, then I have about a 1,000 pounds of Christian literature that you get to read after I'm done reading yours.

Are you ready to take what you give?

How can we break something if we are not under it?
Sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4). We come "under the laws" condemnation when we stand before God guilty of breaking the law *Romans 3:9-20

You are welcome to prove your claims with scripture. Our words do not really mean much in God's eyes and according to the scriptures, only Gods' Words are true and we should believe and follow them over the teachings and traditions of men that lead us away from God's Word to break the commandments of God *see Romans 3:4; Acts of the Apostles 5:29; Matthew 15:3-9. If you cannot show from the scriptures that what is being shared here is not Gods' Word and is not true then what excuse do any of us have not to believe Gods' Word? Of course you are free to believe and do what you wish. That is between you and God. We all answer only to God come judgement day for the words of God we accept or reject according to Jesus in John 12:47-48. According to the scriptures Gods' sheep will hear His Word and follow him. Those who do not hear will not follow because they are not His sheep. (John 10:26-27).

If only God's Words are true, then I should delete about 90% of your post since it's merely your words ABOUT the Bible that make up the post, not the Bible itself.

Can you prove your point(s) without adding your own words into the mix?

90% of what has been written here are God's Word (scripture). What is it that you do not believe? Your welcome dear friend to prove any of your claims that what is being shared here is not God's Word. So far I have not read any scripture provided in your posts here.

100 FACTS ABOUT THE SABBATH AND SUNDAY YOU MAY NOT KNOW.
  1. After working the first six days of the week in creating this earth, the great God rested on the seventh day. (Genesis 2:1.3.)
  2. This stamped that day as God's rest day, or Sabbath day, as Sabbath day means rest day. To illustrate: When a person is born on a certain day, that day thus becomes his birthday. So when God rested upon the seventh day, that day became His rest, or Sabbath, day.
  3. Therefore the seventh day must always be God's Sabbath day. Can you change your birthday from the day on which you were born to one on which you were not born? No. Neither can you change God's rest day to a day on which He did not rest. Hence the seventh day is still God's Sabbath day.
  4. The Creator blessed the seventh day. (Genesis 2:3.)
  5. He sanctified the seventh day. (Exodus 20:11.)
  6. He made it the Sabbath day in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 2:1-3.)
  7. It was made before the fall; hence it is not a type; for types were not introduced till after the fall.
  8. Jesus says it was made for man (Mark 2:27), that is, for the race, as the word man is here unlimited; hence, for the Gentile as well as for the Jew.
  9. It is a memorial of creation. (Exodus 20:11; 31:17.) Every time we rest upon the seventh day, as God did at creation, we commemorate that grand event.
  10. It was given to Adam, the head of the human race. (Mark 2:27; Genesis 2:1-3.)
  11. Hence through him, as our representative, to all nations. (Acts 17:26.)
  12. It is' not a Jewish institution, for it was made 2,300 years before ever there was a Jew.
  13. The Bible never calls it the Jewish Sabbath, but always "the Sabbath of the Lord thy God." Men should be cautious how they stigmatize God's holy rest day.
  14. Evident reference is made to the Sabbath and the seven-day week all, through the patriarchal age. (Genesis 2:l-3; 8:10,12; 29:27,28.etc.)
  15. It was a part of God's law before Sinai. (Exodus 16:4, 27-29.)
  16. Then God placed it in the heart of His moral law. (Exodus 20:1-17.) Why did He place it there if it was not like the other nine precepts, which all admit to be immutable?
  17. The seventh-day Sabbath was commanded by the voice of the living God. (Deuteronomy 4:12,13.)
  18. Then He wrote the commandment with His own finger. (Exodus 31:18.)
  19. He engraved it in the enduring stone, indicating its imperishable nature. (Deuteronomy 5:22.)
  20. It was sacredly preserved in the ark in the holy of holies. (Deuteronomy 10:1-5.)
  21. God forbade work upon the Sabbath, even in the most hurrying times. (Exodus 34:21.)
  22. God destroyed the Israelites in the wilderness because they profaned the Sabbath. (Ezekiel 20:12, 13.)
  23. It is the sign of the true God, by which we are to know Him from false gods. (Ezekiel 20:20.)
  24. God promised that Jerusalem should stand forever if the Jews would keep the Sabbath (Jeremiah 17:24, 25.)
  25. He sent them into the Babylonish captivity for breaking it. (Nehemiah 13:18.)
  26. He destroyed Jerusalem for its violation. (Jeremiah 17:27.)
  27. God has pronounced a special blessing on all the Gentiles who will keep it. (Isaiah 56:6, 7.)
  28. This is in the prophecy, which refers wholly to the Christian dispensation. (See Isaiah 56.)
  29. God has promised to bless all who keep the Sabbath. (Isaiah 56:2.)
  30. The Lord requires us to call it "honourable". (Isaiah 58:13.) Beware, ye who take delight in calling it the. “old Jewish Sabbath,” “a yoke of bondage,” etc.
  31. After the holy Sabbath has been trodden down "many generations,” it is to be restored in the last days. (Isaiah 58:12,13.)
  32. All the holy prophets kept the seventh day.
  33. When the Son of God came, He kept the seventh day all His life. (Luke 4:16; John 15:10.) Thus He followed His Father's example at creation. Shall we not be safe in following the example of both the Father and the Son?
  34. The seventh day is the Lord's Day. (See Revelation 1:10; Mark 2:28; Isaiah 58:13; Exodus 20:10.)
  35. Jesus was Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28), that is, to love and protect it, as the husband is the lord of the wife, to love and cherish her (1 Peter 3:6.)
  36. He vindicated the Sabbath as a merciful institution designed for man's good. (Mark 2:23-28.)
  37. Instead of abolishing the Sabbath, He carefully taught how it should be observed. (Matthew 12:1-13.)
  38. He taught His disciples that they should do nothing upon the Sabbath day but what was “lawful” (Matthew 12:12.)
  39. He instructed His apostles that the Sabbath should be prayerfully regarded forty years after His resurrection. (Matthew 24:20.)
  40. The pious women who had been with Jesus carefully kept the seventh day after His death. (Luke 23:56.)
  41. Thirty years after Christ's resurrection, the Holy Spirit' expressly calls it "the Sabbath day,"(Acts 13:14.)
  42. Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, called it the "Sabbath day" in A.D. 45. (Acts 13:27.) Did not Paul know? Or shall we believe modern teachers, who affirm that it ceased to be the Sabbath at the resurrection of Christ?
  43. Luke, the inspired Christian historian, writing as late as A.D. 62, calls it the "Sabbath day." (Acts 13:44.)
  44. The Gentile converts called it the Sabbath. (Acts 13:42.)
  45. In the great Christian council, A.D. 49, in the presence of the apostles and thousands of disciples, James calls it the "sabbath day." (Acts 15:21)
  46. It was customary to hold prayer meetings upon that day. (Acts 16:13.)
  47. Paul read the Scriptures in public meetings on that day. (Acts 17:2, 3.)
  48. It was his custom to preach upon that day. (Acts 17:2,3.)
  49. The Book of Acts alone gives a record of his holding eighty-four meetings upon that day. (See Acts 13:14, 44; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4. 11.)
  50. There was never any dispute between the Christians and the Jews about the Sabbath day. This is proof that the Christians still observed the same day that the Jews did.
  51. In all their accusations against Paul, they never charged him with disregarding the Sabbath day. Why did they not, if he did not keep it?
  52. But Paul himself expressly declared that he had kept the law. “Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all." Acts 25:8. How could this be true if he had not kept the Sabbath?
  53. The Sabbath is mentioned in the New Testament fifty-nine times, and always with respect, bearing the same title it had in the Old Testament, “the Sabbath day.”
  54. Not a word is said anywhere in the New Testament about the Sabbath's being abolished, done away, changed, or anything of the kind.
  55. God has never given permission to any man to work upon it. Reader, by what authority do you use - the seventh day for common labor?
  56. No Christian of the New Testament, either before or after the resurrection, ever did ordinary work upon the seventh day. Find one case of that kind, and we will yield the question. Why should modem Christians do differently from Bible Christians?
  57. There is no record that God has ever removed His blessing or sanctification from the seventh day.
  58. As the Sabbath was kept in Eden before the fall, so it will be observed eternally in the new earth after the restitution. (Isaiah 66:22, 23.)
  59. The seventh-day Sabbath was an important part of the law of God, as it came from His own mouth, and was written by His own finger upon stone at Sinai. (See Exodus 20.) When Jesus began His work, He expressly declared that He had not come to destroy the law. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets.” Matthew 5:17
  60. Jesus severely condemned the Pharisees as hypocrites for pretending to love God, while at the same tune they made void one of the Ten Commandments by their tradition. The keeping of Sunday is only a tradition of men.
40 Bible Facts Concerning the First Day of the Week
  1. The very first thing recorded In the Bible is work done on Sunday, the first day of the week. (Genesis l: l-5.) The Creator Himself did this. If God made the earth on Sunday, can it be wicked for us to work on Sunday?
  2. God commands men to work upon the first day of the week. (Exodus 20.8-11.) Is it wrong to obey God?
  3. None of the patriarchs ever kept it.
  4. None of the holy prophets ever kept it.
  5. By the express command of-God, His holy people used the first day of the week as a common working day for 4,000 years, at least.
  6. God Himself calls it a "working" day. (Ezekiel 46:1.)
  7. God did not rest upon it.
  8. He never blessed it.
  9. Christ did not rest upon it.
  10. Jesus was a carpenter (Mark 6:3), and worked at His trade until He was thirty years old. He kept the Sabbath and worked six days in the week, as all admit. Hence He did many a hard day’s work on Sunday.
  11. The apostles worked upon it during the same time.
  12. The apostles never rested upon it.
  13. Christ never blessed it.
  14. It has never been blessed by any divine authority.
  15. It has never been sanctified.
  16. No law was ever given to enforce the keeping of it, hence it is no transgression to work upon it. “Where no law is, there is no transgression.” Romans 4:15 (See also 1 John 3:4.)
  17. The New Testament nowhere forbids work to be done on it.
  18. No penalty is provided for its violation.
  19. No blessing is promised for its observance.
  20. No regulation is given as to how it ought to be observed. Would this be so if the Lord wished us to keep it?
  21. It is never called the Christian Sabbath.
  22. It is never called the Sabbath day at all.
  23. It is never called the Lord’s day.
  24. It is never called even a rest day.
  25. No sacred title whatever is applied to it. Then why should we call it holy?
  26. It is simply called “first day of the week.”
  27. Jesus never-mentioned it in any way, never took its name upon His lips, so far as the record shows.
  28. The word Sunday never occurs in the Bible at all.
  29. Neither God, Christ, nor inspired men ever said one word in favor of Sunday as a holy day.
  30. The first day of the week is mentioned only eight times in all the New Testament. (Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1, 19; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2.)
  31. Six of these texts refer to the same first day of the week.
  32. Paul directed the saints to look over their secular affairs on that day. (1Corinthians 16:2.)
  33. In all the New Testament we have a record of only one religious meeting held upon that day, and even this was a night meeting. (Acts 20:5-12.)
  34. There is not intimation that they ever held a meeting upon it before or after that.
  35. It was not their custom to meet on that day.
  36. There was no requirement to break bread on that day.
  37. We have an account of only one instance in which it was done. (Acts 20:7.)
  38. That was done in the night-after midnight. (Verses 7-11.) Jesus celebrated it on Thursday evening (Luke 22), and the disciples sometimes did it every day (Acts 2:42-46.)
  39. The Bible nowhere says that the first day of the week commemorates the resurrection of Christ. This is a tradition of men, which contradicts the law of God. (Matthew 15:1-9.) Baptism commemorates the burial and resurrection of Jesus. (Romans 6:3-5.)
  40. Finally, the New Testament is totally silent with regard to any change of the Sabbath day or any sacredness for the first day.

Here are one hundred plain Bible facts upon this question, showing conclusively that the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord in both the Old and New Testament.*

SO WHERE IS THE SCRIPTURE THAT SAY GOD'S 4TH COMMANDMENT OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS HAVE BEEN ABOLISHED AND WE ARE NOW COMMANDED TO KEEP SUNDAY AS A HOLY DAY OF REST?

ANSWER: THERE IS NONE! There is not a single scripture in all of Gods' Word that says Gods' 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest. This is a man-made teaching and tradition that has led many away from Gods' Word to break the commandments of God.

Because that's a given with the New Promise. No need to get into specifics.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. — Hebrews 8:10

2 Corinthians
Ministers of a New Covenant
…2You yourselves are our letter, inscribed on our hearts, known and read by everyone. 3It is clear that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

THE CHANGING OF GOD'S 4TH COMMANDMENT TO SUNDAY WORSHIP.

Here are some interesting historical references you might find interesting that clear up a few misconception people may have about Sunday worship entering the Roman empire and the early Church....

Historically, Constantine did not change the day of worship as many claim. According to the historical records, Constantine made a civil Sunday law that the Roman Catholic Church adopted in order to practice and promote Sunday worship over the Sabbath of God's 4th commandment...

First Sunday Law enacted by Emperor Constantine - March, 321 A.D.

On the venerable Day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country, however, persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits; because it often happens that another day is not so suitable for grain-sowing or for vine-planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost. (Given the 7th day of March, Crispus and Constantine being consuls each of them for the second time [A.D. 321].)” Source: Codex Justinianus, lib. 3, tit. 12, 3; trans. in Philip Schaff, History of the Christian Church, Vol.3 (5th ed.; New York: Scribner, 1902), p.380, note 1.

Now a professed Christian, Constantine nevertheless remained a devout sun worshipper. “The sun was universally celebrated as the invincible guide and protector of Constantine,” notes Edward Gibbon in his classic Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, ch. xx, par. 3.

Constantine even printed coins which “bore on the one side the letters of the name of Christ, on the other the figure of the sun god.” Arthur P. Stanley, History of the Eastern Church, lect. vi, par. 14.

Again, Constantine’s promotion of Sunday observance was part of his definite strategy to combine paganism with Christianity: “The retention of the old pagan name of dies Solis, or 'Sunday,' for the weekly Christian festival, is in great measure owing to the union of pagan and Christian sentiment with which the first day of the week was recommended by Constantine to his subjects, pagan and Christian alike, as the ‘venerable day of the Sun.’” – Stanley’s History of the Eastern Church, p. 184.

In spite of the rising popularity of Sunday sacredness, Church historian Socrates Scholasticus (5th century) wrote: “For although almost all churches throughout the world celebrate the sacred mysteries [of the Lord's Supper] on the Sabbath of every week, yet the Christians of Alexandria and at Rome, on account of some ancient tradition, have ceased to do this.” – Socrates Scholasticus, Ecclesiastical History, Book 5, ch. 22.

Another historian also confirmed this by stating, “The people of Constantinople, and almost everywhere, assemble together on the Sabbath, as well as on the first day of the week, which custom is never observed at Rome or at Alexandria.” – Sozomen, Ecclesiastical History, Book 7, ch. 19. Thus even in the 5th century, Sabbath keeping was universally prevalent (except in Rome and Alexandria) along with Sunday keeping. Many Christians kept both days, but as the centuries wore on, Sunday keeping grew in prominence and especially within Roman Catholic territories.

In 330 A.D., Constantine moved his capital from Rome to Constantinople (modern Istanbul), thus preparing the way for the Roman Catholic Popes to reign in Rome as the successors of Constantine. As the Papal Church grew in power, it opposed Sabbath observance in favour of Sunday sacredness and made the day change official in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 363-364). Constantine's law had now been fully integrated into the Papal Church and the final step of the Sabbath to Sunday change was complete.

So around the year A.D. 364, the Catholic Church outlawed Sabbath keeping in the Council of Laodicea when they decreed 59 Canon laws. The following is the relevant Canon law: Canon XXIX:Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.” (Percival Translation).

Four hundred years after the death of Christ and one hundred years after Constantine's linking of Church and State by his Sunday law edict, Rome and Alexandria were the only places in the world where many of the Christians kept only Sunday and not the true Sabbath. Why was it that Rome and Alexandria were also the first locations that Sunday worship began? Because this is where the pagan practices of Babylon eventually landed after it was conquered. And what was the dominant pagan practice that the Babylonian priests brought with them? Sun worship which was done on Sun-day! See the history of Sunday worship for more detail.

So one can understand why Rome and Alexandria did not bother to keep the true Sabbath as they had not done so for 200 years. Throughout the entire history of the changeover from Sabbath to Sunday, Rome and Alexandria had worked together. Alexandria provided the philosophical reasons for the changes and Rome provided the decrees and anathemas. Constantine's help was given only to the worldly Church leaders at Rome and those Christians that resisted the errors that were being introduced into the Church met with his opposition. “Unite with the bishop of Rome or be destroyed,” was Constantine's position.

Great as were the favors which Constantine showed to the church, they were only for that strong, close-knit, hierarchically organized portion that called itself Catholic. The various [so-called] heretical sects could look for no bounty from his hands.” – Williston Walker, A History of the Christian Church, page 105.

The change of the Sabbath to Sunday was totally completed by the seventh century as the Popes consolidating their enormous power persecuted all who resisted their innovations. Did Satan use Constantine to play a key part in his plan to change the Sabbath to his day being Sunday? The answer is clear! From sun worship 2000 B.C., to Sunday worship in the Church. Satan infiltrated the Christian Church and most are oblivious to the fact that this has happened or understand the relevance. Sunday or “dies solis”, the day of the sun came from Satan worship and is his day. (more from here).

God bless

90% of what I has been written here is the Word of God (scripture). What is it that you do not believe? Your welcome dear friend to prove any of your claims that what is being shared here is not God's Word. All the scriptures have been provided in my posts showing Gods' Word. All your posts are your words that have one of Gods' Words in them (scripture). Our words and opinion do not really mean much in Gods' eyes. Only God's Word is true and we should believe and follow them over the traditions and teachings of men that lead us away from Gods' Word to break the commandments of God *Romans 3:4; Acts of the Apostles 5:29; Matthew 15:3-9. It time to unlearn the lies that we have all been taught from Sunday school. God is calling us all to return to His Word and worship Him in Spirit and in truth. *John 4:23-24

Take Care.

Ok. So, let me get this straight: "your word" is God's Word. And whatever inferences, insinuations, interpolations, or interpetations you've made along the way to describe and amplify God's Word, all of this in your estimation is also God's Word. Do I understand you correctly?

If this is so, then my first line of contention is that it is not at all either clear from Scripture that "Babylon" is some apostate Christianity, nor does your identification of such 'babylon' enjoy a consensus among scholars.

Secondly, it seems that you're wanting to avoid being accountable for your exegesis. I can't let that stand since the Bible itself does not give us any comprehensive explanation about how best to interpret it so that we all read the Bible and understand it the same way. Unless.....you have some "special measure" of the Holy Spirit that no one else has. Is that it? You have some "special measure" by which the rest of us must demur?

Because that's a given. No need to get into specifics. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. — Hebrews 8:10
Gods' Word does not teach lawlessness (without law). According to the scriptures in the new covenant. The purpose of God's 10 commandments is to give us a knowledge of good (moral right doing when obeyed) and evil (moral wrong doing when disobeyed); sin (moral wrong doing when disobeyed) and righteousness (moral right doing when obeyed) *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; Psalms 119:172 and to lead us to Christ that we might be forgiven through faith *Galatians 3:22-25 so that we can be born again in Gods' Spirit of love *See John 3:3-7 compare with 1 John 3:4-9; Romans 13:8-10; 1 John 5:2-4 to be obedient to God's law through faith in God's Word *Romans 3:31. This is God's new covenant promise to love and love is expressed in obeying what Gods Word says not disobeying what God's Word says. That would be sin and unbelief.
2 Corinthians Ministers of a New Covenant …2You yourselves are our letter, inscribed on our hearts, known and read by everyone. 3It is clear that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
Context and meaning of 2 Corinthians 3 added in here linked.

Please read the post you are quoting from. The scriptures are God's Word and "he whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure to him." - John 3:34. You have not provided any scripture in your posts accept for your words that are not Gods' Word. I am happy to have a discussion with you. What is it that you do not believe and why. Please show me from scripture what it is you do not believe from the scriptures that have been shared with you here.
