If I am not mistaken, this church adheres to many teachings from the Charismatic movement. They (if memory serves) also claim to be able to trace their succession back to St Peter. That is, the laying on of hands to receive the Holy Spirit can be traced back every generation to Peter.
I looked into joining the group when living in Beaufort SC, which had a small assembly meeting at a local nursing home.

It has a relatively small footprint, I believe. The closest one to me is a couple hundred miles away now. There used to be a CEC about 30 miles from me, but I see it is now ACNA. Its website continues to proclaim evangelical, liturgical, and charismatic emphasis. I am curious about their change of affiliation.

They were interested in "3 streams" Anglicanism before it became trendy. Now that most of the realignment Anglicans have adopted this same ethos, they don't have a whole lot of reason for being. However, the CEC is generally more High-Church than the self-described "Charismatic Anglicans" in bodies like ACNA and AMiA. They had an active bishop in Petersburg, Virginia as recently as 2 years ago.

Interesting! Thanks for the response!

So are they in communion with the rest of the Anglican Communion?

No. The Anglican Communion recognizes one body in each country. In the United States, it is The Episcopal Church.

So The Anglican Communion is those who recognize the Archbishop of Canterbury? IOW, the CEC is independent/non-canonical?

They might recognize him - I don't know. But he doesn't recognize them.

Non-canonical is not a description Anglicans use. I've not heard that term outside the context of Orthodoxy.

No. The Anglican Communion recognizes one body in each country.

I think that gets a bit murky in places like some parts of Europe, where both the C of E and TEC have active ministries.
