It seems you are very confused in this matter. I did read your linked post and nowhere does @BobRyan say that God delivered the 10 commandments to Adam and Eve before the fall of mankind. From what I read @BobRyan was saying was that Adam and Eve had Gods' law written on the heart because they were made in the image of God. Perhaps if your not clear on this matter you should ask @BobRyan?

I also asked you do you know the difference between having God's law written on the heart and having them written on the tables of stone? Your response as usual is to ignore my posts and the scriptures and questions asked of you that show why your claims here are in error. Is there a reason for that?

It would be good if you took the time to respond to my posts as to do for all of yours so we can have a discussion.

Tertullian

“[L]et him who contends that the Sabbath is still to be observed as a balm of salvation, and circumcision on the eighth day . . . teach us that, for the time past, righteous men kept the Sabbath or practiced circumcision, and were thus rendered ‘friends of God.’ For if circumcision purges a man, since God made Adam uncircumcised, why did he not circumcise him, even after his sinning, if circumcision purges? . . . Therefore, since God originated Adam uncircumcised and unobservant of the Sabbath, consequently his offspring also, Abel, offering him sacrifices, uncircumcised and unobservant of the Sabbath, was by him [God] commended [Gen. 4:1–7, Heb. 11:4]. . . . Noah also, uncircumcised—yes, and unobservant of the Sabbath—God freed from the deluge. For Enoch too, most righteous man, uncircumcised and unobservant of the Sabbath, he translated from this world, who did not first taste death in order that, being a candidate for eternal life, he might show us that we also may, without the burden of the law of Moses, please God”(An Answer to the Jews Chapter II.—The Law Anterior to Moses. It follows, accordingly, that, in so far as the abolition of carnal circumcision and of the old law is demonstrated as having been consummated at its specific times, so also the observance of the Sabbath is demonstrated to have been temporary.For the Jews say, that from the beginning God sanctified the seventh day, by resting on it from all His works which He made; and that thence it was, likewise, that Moses said to the People: “Remember the day of the sabbaths, to sanctify it: every servile work ye shall not do therein, except what pertaineth unto life.” Whence we (Christians) understand that we still more ought to observe a sabbath from all “servile work” always, and not only every seventh day, but through all time. And through this arises the question for us, what sabbath God willed us to keep? For the Scriptures point to a sabbath eternal and a sabbath temporal. But the Jews are sure to say, that ever since this precept was given through Moses, the observance has been binding. Manifest accordingly it is, that the precept was not eternal nor spiritual, but temporary, which would one day cease. In short, so true is it that it is not in the exemption from work of the sabbath—that is, of the seventh day—that the celebration of this solemnity is to consist, that Joshua the son of Nun, at the time that he was reducing the city Jericho by war, stated that he had received from God a precept to order the People that priests should carry the ark of the testament of God seven days, making the circuit of the city; and thus, when the seventh day’s circuit had been performed, the walls of the city would spontaneously fall. Which was so done; and when the space of the seventh day was finished, just as was predicted, down fell the walls of the city. Whence it is manifestly shown, that in the number of the seven days there intervened a sabbath-day. For seven days, whencesoever they may have commenced, must necessarily include within them a sabbath-day; on which day not only must the priests have worked, but the city must have been made a prey by the edge of the sword by all the people of Israel. Nor is it doubtful that they “wrought servile work,” when, in obedience to God’s precept, they drave the preys of war. For in the times of the Maccabees, too, they did bravely in fighting on the sabbaths, and routed their foreign foes, and recalled the law of their fathers to the primitive style of life by fighting on the sabbaths. Therefore, since it is manifest that a sabbath temporal was shown, and a sabbath eternal foretold; a circumcision carnal foretold, and a circumcision spiritual pre-indicated; a law temporal and a law eternal formally declared; sacrifices carnal and sacrifices spiritual foreshown; it follows that, after all these precepts had been given carnally, in time preceding, to the people Israel, there was to supervene a time whereat the precepts of the ancient Law and of the old ceremonies would cease, and the promise3 of the new law, and the recognition of spiritual sacrifices, and the promise of the New Testament, supervene;4 while the light from on high would beam upon us who were sitting in darkness, and were being detained in the shadow of death.5 And so there is incumbent on us a necessity6 binding us, since we have premised that a new law was predicted by the prophets, and that not such as had been already given to their fathers at the time when He led them forth from the land of Egypt,7 to show and prove, on the one hand, that that old Law has ceased, and on the other, that the promised new law is now in operation.

And, indeed, first we must inquire whether there be expected a giver of the new law, and an heir of the new testament, and a priest of the new sacrifices, and a purger of the new circumcision, and an observer of the eternal sabbath, to suppress the old law, and institute the new testament, and offer the new sacrifices, and repress the ancient ceremonies, and suppress8 the old circumcision together with its own sabbath, and announce the new kingdom which is not corruptible. Where we find this quote from the Baptist Confession of Faith

The Law of God - Baptist Confession of Faith: Section 19

1. God gave to Adam a law of universal obedience which was written in his heart, and He gave him very specific instruction about not eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. By this Adam and all his descendants were bound to personal, total, exact, and perpetual obedience, being promised life upon the fulfilling of the law, and threatened with death upon the breach of it. At the same time Adam was endued with power and ability to keep it.

2. The same law that was first written in the heart of man continued to be a perfect rule of righteousness after the Fall, and was delivered by God upon Mount Sinai in the Ten Commandments, and written in two tables, the first four containing our duty towards God, and the other six, our duty to man.

Besides this law, commonly called the moral law, God was pleased do give the people of Israel ceremonial laws containing several typical ordinances....

Bob, @BABerean2 claims that you said and believe God's 10 commandments were given to mankind in the Garden of Eden before the fall. Is that your view? I also told him in a linked post he provided to me earlier that you were talking about the law written on the heart and not on stone and asked him the difference to which I did not get a reply. Did you want to clarify what @BABerean2 is claiming you are saying here?

Neither the word "law" nor the word "heart" is found in that passage..

Is God love? Was man made in God's image before the fall or after the fall? (Genesis 1:26-31; 1 John 4:8)

Tertullian

“[L]et him who contends that the Sabbath is still to be observed as a balm of salvation, and circumcision on the eighth day . . . teach us that, for the time past, righteous men kept the Sabbath or practiced circumcision, and were thus rendered ‘friends of God.’ For if circumcision purges a man, since God made Adam uncircumcised, why did he not circumcise him, even after his sinning, if circumcision purges? . . . Therefore, since God originated Adam uncircumcised and unobservant of the Sabbath, consequently his offspring also, Abel, offering him sacrifices, uncircumcised and unobservant of the Sabbath, was by him [God] commended [Gen. 4:1–7, Heb. 11:4]. . . . Noah also, uncircumcised—yes, and unobservant of the Sabbath—God freed from the deluge. It follows, accordingly, that, in so far as the abolition of carnal circumcision and of the old law is demonstrated as having been consummated at its specific times, so also the observance of the Sabbath is demonstrated to have been temporary.For the Jews say, that from the beginning God sanctified the seventh day, by resting on it from all His works which He made; and that thence it was, likewise, that Moses said to the People: “Remember the day of the sabbaths, to sanctify it: every servile work ye shall not do therein, except what pertaineth unto life.” Whence we (Christians) understand that we still more ought to observe a sabbath from all “servile work” always, and not only every seventh day, but through all time. But the Jews are sure to say, that ever since this precept was given through Moses, the observance has been binding. Manifest accordingly it is, that the precept was not eternal nor spiritual, but temporary, which would one day cease. In short, so true is it that it is not in the exemption from work of the sabbath—that is, of the seventh day—that the celebration of this solemnity is to consist, that Joshua the son of Nun, at the time that he was reducing the city Jericho by war, stated that he had received from God a precept to order the People that priests should carry the ark of the testament of God seven days, making the circuit of the city; and thus, when the seventh day’s circuit had been performed, the walls of the city would spontaneously fall. Which was so done; and when the space of the seventh day was finished, just as was predicted, down fell the walls of the city. Whence it is manifestly shown, that in the number of the seven days there intervened a sabbath-day. For seven days, whencesoever they may have commenced, must necessarily include within them a sabbath-day; on which day not only must the priests have worked, but the city must have been made a prey by the edge of the sword by all the people of Israel. Therefore, since it is manifest that a sabbath temporal was shown, and a sabbath eternal foretold; a circumcision carnal foretold, and a circumcision spiritual pre-indicated; a law temporal and a law eternal formally declared; sacrifices carnal and sacrifices spiritual foreshown; it follows that, after all these precepts had been given carnally, in time preceding, to the people Israel, there was to supervene a time whereat the precepts of the ancient Law and of the old ceremonies would cease, and the promise3 of the new law, and the recognition of spiritual sacrifices, and the promise of the New Testament, supervene;4 while the light from on high would beam upon us who were sitting in darkness, and were being detained in the shadow of death.5 And so there is incumbent on us a necessity6 binding us, since we have premised that a new law was predicted by the prophets, and that not such as had been already given to their fathers at the time when He led them forth from the land of Egypt,7 to show and prove, on the one hand, that that old Law has ceased, and on the other, that the promised new law is now in operation.

That is not a good platform to put our trust in over the scriptures. I think you have a little catching up to do. Your claims about the Sabbath being a "shadow law" was addressed in detail in here part 1 and here part 2. Your response of course was just to ignore the scripture context you left out showing that Colossians 2:16 is in reference to the annual sabbaths in the annual Feast days not Gods 4th commandment. Ignoring Gods' Word dear friend will not make it disappear according to Jesus in John 12:47-48.

According to the scriptures from Mosiac book of the “shadow laws” for remission of sins in the old covenant earthly Sanctuary that was given to the Levites and the Priests (Exodus 24:7; Deuteronomy 17:18) to make blood atonement for God’s people every day of the week (including Gods’ 4th commandment of the 10 commandments) were linked directly to the earthly Sanctuary and its “shadow laws” for remission of sins under the Levitical Priesthood and that was carried out for Gods’ people in the earthly Sanctuary. What has been shared with you here and elsewhere already can be proven through the scriptuers
As shown above under the old covenant Mosiac laws for remission of sins and animal sacrifice were a very important part of not only daily but weekly (Sabbath), new moons, and the annual Feast days. These practices of course being "shadows of things to come" *Colossians 2:17 and the body being of Christ. Therefore, under the new covenant these laws are fulfilled in Christ to who they all pointed to.

According to the scriptures, the "seventh day Sabbath of God's 4th commandment is every "seventh day" of the week on a continuous weekly cycle made at creation, meaning it is inside the annual Feast days and outside of the annual Feast days (because it is continually every "seventh day") as shown through the scriptures already under the old covenant in the annual Feast days there were ceremonial shadow sabbaths that were connected directly to the Feast days that were not Gods' 4th commandment that could fall on any day of the week depending on the yearly cycle. These annual ceremonial shadow sabbaths connected to the Feast days included;
As shown from the scriptures above it is these "ceremonial shadow sabbaths" connected to the annual Feast days and the old covenant laws for remission of sins that are "shadows of things to come" not God's 4th commandment of God's 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken (Romans 7:7). I think you have not considered the above in your responses to be honest.

An interesting set of scriptures I was reading this morning...

2 Thessalonians 2:7-12 [7], For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. [8], And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: [9], Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, [10], And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. [11], And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [12], That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

If we do not receive the love of the truth, we will not be saved but will receive strong delusions and believe lies. Let's pray we do not harden our hearts to hearing and seeing the truth of Gods' Word.

Scholars opinions are a dime a dozen. I am sure scholars can be found that disagree with you, Jamieson, Fausset and Brown. Scripture written by God's scholar, Paul in 2Cor 3:7-11 refutes Jamieson, Fausset and Brown.

The Greater Glory of the New Covenant
7 Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, 8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? 9 If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! 10 For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. 11 And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!

Have you noticed that Paul here wrote those verses in the past tense. That means the ministry of death is no longer binding on the nation it was given. The remainder of the people were never given the Sabbaths. The conclusion is that you are only presenting an imaginary sin because even the Israelites are no longer under the dictates of the old covenant laws

Hi Friend, I suppose that is what you would like for 2Cor3:6-11 to say, but it doesn't.

First of all it is telling us that the ten commandments equal the ministry that brought (brought is past tense, so is no longer doing that) death.

3 Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, (Here Paul is stating that the ten commandments were temporary)
4 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? (Here Paul is asking a question to us. I put my faith in the Holy Spirit over the temporary 10 commandments, how about you?)

Now to critique your theory of what 2Cor 3:6-11 means. You wrote:

Please show me where those verses, in any way, indicate that the ten commandments are anyplace except on stones. Actually, those verse were comparing the ten as Israel's guide to the Holy Spirit being the guide. And I submit the Holy Spirit is the guide of Christians and Jews alike.

For God has said he will put His laws on the heart and mind, for His word is nigh us in our hearts and mouths through Christ. And my friend includes the Sabbath of the Decalogue

And just how well is that working Him? Billions have passed through this Earth that have not espoused any recognition of the Israelite only Sabbath. SDAs are actively using many ways to get people to believe that the Sabbath is a required law. Very few become convinced and of the ones that do, many soon leave out the busy back doors of the churches. Now wouldn't you think if the ten were written on our hearts we would respond without all the coaxing the church is doing. Millions of your hard earned dollars have been spent in trying to get the word out. For the most part hearts do not respond. What people do respond to is agape love yet the ten commandments have absolutely no command to love. I submit to you that it is love that is written on our hearts and it is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that motivates mankind to be loving beings. Billions have passed through this Earth as loving beings. A tiny few as Christian Sabbath observers. Again, wouldn't you think if it were written in our hearts that we must observe the Israelite Sabbath that the Holy Spirit would prompt us to keep it without all the coaxing?

Again, wouldn't you think if it were written in our hearts that we must observe the Israelite Sabbath that the Holy Spirit would prompt us to keep it without all the coaxing?
God did and it was rejected

Hi Friend, I suppose that is what you would like for 2Cor3:6-11 to say, but it doesn't.

First of all it is telling us that the ten commandments equal the ministry that brought (brought is past tense, so is no longer doing that) death.
2 which was engraved in letters on stone,
3 Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, (Here Paul is stating that the ten commandments were temporary)
4 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? (Here Paul is asking a question to us. I put my faith in the Holy Spirit over the temporary 10 commandments, how about you?)

Not with ink but the spirit of the living God. Not on tables of stone but on the fleshly tables of the heart are we the epistles of Christ. So let’s not say in our heart let’s bring Christ down from above, or bring him up from the deep. But what shall we say, His Word, Christ is nigh unto us. In our hearts and in our mouths. That is the word of faith in which we preach. For God has said, He will put His Laws in our hearts and in our minds write them. For He has given us of His Spirit, Love. And as He is so are we in this world. And on this hang, depend all the law and prophets. And that my friend would include the Sabbath.


2 Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
2 Corinthians 3:4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
