Revelation 11:19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple.

2 Maccabees 2:1 One finds in the records that the prophet Jeremiah ... 4 It was also in the same document that the prophet, having received an oracle, ordered that the tent and the ark should follow with him, and that he went out to the mountain where Moses had gone up and had seen the inheritance of God. 5 Jeremiah came and found a cave-dwelling, and he brought there the tent and the ark and the altar of incense; then he sealed up the entrance. 6 Some of those who followed him came up intending to mark the way, but could not find it. 7 When Jeremiah learned of it, he rebuked them and declared: “The place shall remain unknown until God gathers his people together again and shows his mercy. 8 Then the Lord will disclose these things, and the glory of the Lord and the cloud will appear, as they were shown in the case of Moses, and as Solomon asked that the place should be specially consecrated.”

Kim Clement - June 20, 2008 - For God said there will be a restoration of the tabernacle of David. What is this says the Lord? It means whatever took place in David's tabernacle is going to take place on the earth again. What is it, what is it that I had in the tabernacle of David? My covenant, the ark of the covenant was in the tabernacle of David. Get ready for there will be praise like you have never heard. Get ready for there will be sounds that you have never heard before. Get ready, says the Lord, worship shall arise that the world has never been heard before for the key for the key of David has been given to you. The key of David has been given to you. Now people, rejoice, for I will restore and the ark of the covenant shall bring my presence, my glory, and my power back again to the earth!

Amos 9:11 LXX In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and will rebuild the ruins of it, and will set up the parts thereof that have been broken down, and will build it up as in the ancient days: 12 that the rest of mankind, and all the Gentiles upon whom My name is called, may earnestly seek Me, says Yehovah who does all these things.

I understand that 2 Maccabees isn't cannon for protestants. Not looking for a cannon debate. I simply included it because the author wrote, "it was found in the writings of Jeremiah." Take it or leave it. Also, you may not believe, or even heard of, a prophet named Kim Clement. (passed away in 2016) I simply include what he said as it pertains to the subject. Take it or leave it.

Now, the Tabernacle of David had one purpose, to house the Ark of the Covenant until the Temple was built by Solomon. Notice that 2 Maccabees mentions "the tent" along with the Ark of the Covenant being hidden in a cave by Jeremiah. I believe "the tent" here is the actual literal Tabernacle of David from long ago. If so, it would make perfect sense for the Tabernacle and the Ark to recovered at the same time, thus the restoration of the Tabernacle of David, as prophesied by Amos.
Also, the Ark carried God's presence, when the clothes, sandals, etc. of the Israelites did not wear out for 40 years. Therefore, His presence could still be on the Ark and thus the Ark and Tabernacle have never degraded at all in the cave. Even after 2600 years.

We read at the 7th Trumpet in Revelation; the Ark will be in His Temple in heaven. Since the Ark gets to heaven at some point, is it reasonable to think it will be found here on earth first? Anyway, I just found these things interesting, so I share them with you all.

Do you expect the Ark of the Covenant to be found?

Scripture say's that the ark of the covenant was found in heaven, but scripture also teaching us that the items fould in the tabernacle where only copies of the true things already present in heaven. I think that it is entirely possible that the early copy of the ark of the covenant may still present on the earth and may one day be discovered one day.

I am not all that sure that there will be anything which has been made by men's hands at all in heaven.

Do you expect the Ark of the Covenant to be found?
No.
And may I ask, where does Jesus Christ of Nazareth fit in? He specifically said "It is finished" meaning , all is fulfilled and the the age of the Temple will never rise again. He has now made His Home in us, the regenerated Christian.

And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

"Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as He appointed, instructing Moses to make it according to the pattern that he had seen, 45which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Joshua into the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David, 46who found favor before God and asked to find a dwelling for the God of Jacob. 47But Solomon built Him a house.
48“However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says:

49‘Heaven is My throne,
And earth is My footstool.
What house will you build for Me? says the Lord,
Or what is the place of My rest?
50Has My hand not made all these things?’

You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. 52Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, 53who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.

Two of the four sources you use are most likely unreliable.

I voted no. I believe the ark was hidden just before the destruction of Jerusalem, and remains hidden today. Most likely, whoever hid it took the secret of its location to their graves. I don't think God would allow it to be found.

If the Ark is found, what difference does it make? it won't have any affect on the individual believer. Additionally, it won't help any unbeliever to come to a saving faith in Christ.

Faith comes by hearing, not finding archeological remains.

HI it very well could be found and there are many stories about it being in Ethiopia or in Jeremiah's cave or even the Vatican as Hosea 3 is an interesting prophecy.

4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without ephod or teraphim. 5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days.

Now this is a worthy Bible study is you look up all 4 places where it describes the day David is raised up you will see it is the time of Jacobs trouble and in the latter days and Jacob being saved out of it. In Eze it is when the dead bones have come back to life and all. In Hosea we see implied that the Israel will go many days without a sacrifice and in the latter days the sacrifice is returned at the time the kingdom restored. Now in 2 Thes 2 we see the man of sin revealed in the the Temple 1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ[fn] had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin[fn] is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God[fn] in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

This guy is destroyed at the 2nd coming which leads to the abomination of desolation which if future very well could include the ark of the covenant being in place. Now the amazing part or conclusion of this story is found in Jer 3 which tells that in the kingdom when the LORD is king the ark is now obsolete completely.

14 “Return, O backsliding children,” says the LORD; “for I am married to you. I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion. 15 And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.
16 “Then it shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land in those days,” says the LORD, “that they will say no more, ‘The ark of the covenant of the LORD.’ It shall not come to mind, nor shall they remember it, nor shall they visit it, nor shall it be made anymore.
17 “At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. No more shall they follow the dictates of their evil hearts.
18 “In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given as an inheritance to your fathers.

The Ark of the Covenant will be found and placed in a new Temple;

If the Temple in Jerusalem is to be literally rebuilt in the future, then the close connection between the Temple and the Ark means that the Ark will be present then.
In Revelation 11:1-2 it states ... go and measure the Temple of God and the altar....for 42 months the Gentiles will trample the Holy city underfoot.

Matthew 24:15 So when you see the ‘abomination of desolation’ of which Daniel spoke, standing in the Holy place... Daniel 9:27...he will put a stop to the sacrifice and offerings

Isaiah 60:13 the glory of Lebanon will come to you, to adorn His holy sanctuary, to honor the place where I stand.

Ezekiel 43:1-12...the Glory of the Lord came into the Temple by the East gate.

These, and other, texts make it clear that the Temple will exist again on the Temple mount, complete with reinstated rituals, Isaiah 56:7, until the Return of Jesus and His Millennial reign. Proved by how the AC will stop them for 3 ½ years. Daniel 9:27

The original purpose for building a Temple was to house the Ark. This implies that that which is housed is greater than that which houses it. If so, then the return of the Ark is a necessary adjunct to the rebuilt Temple.

It might be argued that since the Presence of God had departed from the Ark/Temple, then the Ark no longer retains its sanctity, and is no longer necessary. But, the Temple continued to have its spiritual significance for long after that happened. Along this line, it may also be argued that the consummating nature of Christ’s atonement for sin ended the need for the Ark’s mercy seat. Yet it is apparent that the Temple had sanctity for Jesus during His life and continued to do so for the early Church.

If the Ark truly awaits rediscovery, perhaps hidden under the Temple Mount, or at Mt Nebo; 2 Maccabees 2:4-8, then that day will see the building of the Third Temple.

Haggai 2:6-9 These are the words of the Lord; In a little while from now, I shall shake the heavens, the earth and the sea. I shall shake all the nations and the treasure of all nations will come here and I shall fill this House with splendour. Mine is the silver and the gold – the splendour of this latter House will surpass that of the former. In this place I shall grant prosperity and peace.

Jeremiah 3:18 & 50:4-5, In those days Judah will be reunited with Israel, together they will come from the North into the Land that I gave to their forefathers.

Jeremiah 3:16-17 In those days, when you have increased and become fruitful in the Land, says the Lord, no one will speak any more of the Ark of the Covenant, remember it or resort to it. At that time, Jerusalem will be called the Throne of the Lord, and all the nations will gather to honour the Lords name.

When you have increased and become fruitful” refers to the time when all the Lord’s faithful Christian peoples have gathered into the Land of Greater Israel. Isaiah 35:1-10, Ezekiel 34:11-16, Romans 9:24-26

Interesting thoughts.
Of course, you are entitled to your own interpretation here. I'm not looking to argue but would like to share how I see the "it is finished" statement by Jesus. The testimony of Jesus Christ IS the spirit of prophecy. God doesn't speak as man speaks. He speaks in prophetic form. "It is finished" is a prophecy about when He delivers the kingdom to the Father, which gets fulfilled here:

Rev 21:5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” 6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

This is a tremendously well informed and reasoned post! Bravo. I also believe the recovery of the Ark will spark the building of the third Temple. Good eye on that.
What if I predict when the Ark will be found, where, and by who? Sept 19, 2022. Nebo. Elijah. Draw a line on a map of Elijah's exit. Bethel to Jericho, across the Jordan. Extend that line across the Jordan and you hit Nebo. The place where Moses died, Elijah was taken up, and the place from which he (Elijah, the prophet like Moses) will return.

Your last statement. Why do you think God would not allow the Ark, which carries His presence, power, and covenant, to be found?

The earthly ark was meant for Israel specifically. It disappeared when Babylon destroyed the first temple in 586 BC. If God had meant for it to be used in some way, it surely would not have disappeared.

Jesus and the ark are seen by John the Revelator in the heavenly temple (Revelation 1:12-16, Revelation 11:19), which points to a change taking place; the earthly physical temple no longer needed, the ark no longer to be used.

One thing I know, is that the ark of the covenant on earth, was a copy of the one in heaven, just as the 1st and 2nd temples were copies of the temple in heaven.

Thus the earthly copy is not what appears in heaven.

The temple was destroyed in AD 70, and the ark was nowhere to be found
The Ark of the Covenant was never in the Second Temple. [Herods]
It was taken out of the first Temple, [Solomons] and hidden by Jeremiah, before the Babylonian conquest, in 586 BC.

All of the Temple furnishings and implements will be found and reused in the new Temple, which will be built by the Christian peoples.
Thinking otherwise, is to deny the truths of scripture like 2 Thess 2:4, Daniel 9:27, Isaiah 60:7, +

Hard to say, but if original Temple services are going to resume prior to or during the first half of the tribulation(and there's every indication that it will), I would assume that the original Ark of the Covenant will be found, if it already hasn't been found. The way I see it, without the Ark, there's no Holy of Holies that the antichrist is suppose to defile.
Israel needs to get things "settled" with their neighbors before they would consider going ahead with construction of a new Temple.

The earthly ark was meant for Israel specifically. The temple was destroyed in AD 70, and the ark was nowhere to be found. If God had meant for it to be used in some way, it would not have disappeared. Twenty six years after the temple was destroyed, circa AD 96, John the Revelator was shown a vision of Jesus in the holy place (Revelation 1:12-16), along with the ark in the heavenly temple (Revelation 11:19), which would shift focus away from an earthly ark.

You both made a statement I would like to understand. I do understand that the Temple was a copy, or symbolic of, things in heaven. But specifically, the Ark, is there a scripture about it being a copy of something in heaven? It doesn't seem to make sense given the Ark of the Covenant contained the covenant with Israel for the earth. Are you suggesting there is another Ark in heaven with another covenant? Not sure I follow your thoughts. Please explain. Thanks.

(In Bold above) Good point!
Israel has never had things "settled" with their neighbors really. I think when God says it is time, then He will make a way, no matter how difficult it may seem. Perhaps there will be some miraculous fireworks!

I'm not totally wanting to be dogmatic about this, but the ark being found in heaven in the book of revelation might not be there for the same reasons as the the earthly ark was on the earth for. The ark is also the mercy seat as well. Of course, the ark is ultimately symbolic of Jesus Christ, but the one in heaven will be overshaddowed by the presence of Jesus Christ.

All this talk about where the ark of the covenant is, but what is most important is what is inside the ark of the covenant. We all know it’s God’s holy laws, the Ten Commandments written personally by the finger of God.

God kept His holy laws inside the ark of the covenant and God has an ark of the covenant in Heaven- which it would be safe to assume also has God’s holy law. Revelation 11:19

For those who think God’s holy law, the Ten Commandments was nailed to the cross or no longer applicable I would seriously rethink that. Revelation 22:14-15

Jesus taught us how to pray and that God’s will for us in Heaven is not different than His will for us on earth. Matthew 6:9-13 God didn’t leave it up to anyone to write His holy laws, God personally wrote them and spoke them to a whole nation and they are very much applicable today. God wrote a covenant of Ten, not nine or eight. Exodus 34:28

While I think the earthy Ten Commandments is hidden so no man can find, God wrote His law in our hearts and minds in the New Covenant Hebrews 8:10, Jer 31:33 and our bodies are a temple for the Holy Spirit which is given so we can obey these very laws. John 14:15-18, Acts 5:32

God bless!
