shouldn't USA politicians have the courage to ban all coal now?

because

6 million get killed from coal air pollution every year.

'Invisible killer': fossil fuels caused 8.7m deaths in 2018, research finds

Fossil fuel air pollution responsible for 1 in 5 deaths

shouldn't USA politicians have the courage to ban all coal now?

because

Solar is now cheapest electricity in history says IEA

shouldn't USA politicians have the courage to ban all coal now?

because

A new material is able to use Solar power to create hydrogen fuel from seawater

shouldn't USA politicians have the courage to ban all coal now?

because

Hydrogen will supply global energy needs and generate a market worth $2.5 trillion by 2050

shouldn't USA politicians have the courage to ban all coal now?

because the USA will be a Desert 2060

Drought and New Deserts by 2060: Most of Mexico, Central America and USA

shouldn't USA politicians have the courage to ban all coal now?

U.S.A scientists work to stave off desertification

because By 2045

135 million more people will become illegal immigrant because of desertification.

shouldn't USA politicians have the courage to drain the oceans now?

by 1 centimeters per year

using solar powered desalination of seawater

then use solar power to pump

the freshwater in land where it is needed?

because 97 percent of the worlds water is salty ocean

water and not suitable for drinking.

ocean water volume is roughly 326 million cubic miles

(1.332 billion cubic kilometers),

according to a recent study from

the U.S. Geological Survey.

71 percent of Earth is covered in salty water.

2 billion people lack safe drinking water at home, more than twice as many lack safe sanitation

money

2 billion potential customers just waiting for us to supply them clean water

even if we charge $1 per year that would be $2 billion per year

if we charge $10 per year that would be $20 billion per year

if we charge $1 per week that would be $100 billion per year

$7 trillion

salt

we have to mine for a quarter of a billion tons of salt each year that we currently use.

pipeline

The world's longest pipeline is 2353 miles.

the Interprovincial Pipe Line Inc. installation,

which spans the North American continent from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada through Chicago to Montreal:

a distance of 3787km.

solar power

Approximately 12000 TW (terrawatts) of energy

reaches the Earth from the Sun.

That is 1200000000000000 joules per minute

More energy reaches the earth from the sun in one day

than the whole world uses in one year.

Solar is now cheapest electricity in history says IEA

water storage

water can be stored under the land in vast aquifers as deep as 30,000 feet and as wide 174,000 square-mile.

aquifers underground can hold volume of water 100 times greater then amount that can be held on the surface of the land.

aquifers underneath the deserts were last filled with water over 5,000 years ago.

president says "we will plant Trillions of Trees now" because

Planting Trillions of Trees will Cancel Out Decades of CO2 Emission

fertilizer

human produce 200 million tons of sewage every year

we could make this in to fertilizer and use it to turn the deserts

in to rich agricultural land and wildlife habitats

where to drain the oceans now because

How will you charge your electric car?

The same way they likely already are, with natural gas based electricity.

Coal accounts for 19%, and falling as no new coal plants are being or are likely to be built, of US power production. Thankfully it will soon be a thing of the past.

Solar accounts for 2% of electricity.

My apologies in advance - the OP is IMHO a series of dreams. First coal, then fossil fuels, then draining the oceans.

All theoretically plausible on paper, but no where near functional in real life.

Let's be courageous and ban coal today - tomorrow 20% of the nation is without power.

And wind power, which is a major polluter itself, accounts for so little that it hardly shows up on a chart ranking the various sources of energy.
1) "Major polluter" but coal is not?
2) Accounts for so little? 8.5% is more than solar.
3) Your sources seem to be guiding you the wrong way.

We kind of agree because I think that all this eco stuff is the result of a type of mental illness.
Wanting clean air to breath is a mental illness now?
Wanting clean water to drink is a mental illness now?
Wanting green areas in urban centers is a mental illness now?
Wanting safe ways to walk, jog or cycle is a mental illness now?

Then, please give me a mental illness every day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

If America isn't using so much coal any longer due to environmental impact, it would make sense to quit mining it out of the ground. If we keep selling it to other countries it kind of defeats the purpose. The coal pollution will still be introduced into the environment. But with corporate greed in America I doubt leadership will have the courage to turn from fossil fuels until it is too late. Necessity is the mother of invention. Until they have to, leaders in America will never put the needs of the many ahead of the needs of the rich and powerful.

Our smallmouth bass population was making a comeback in the Shenandoah River. Then trump let the coal waste flow back into nature again. Many species are going to become extinct. This is just an unfortunate fact.

Economy and ecology have the same etymology: housekeeping.
When I was young I had a book titled "Space Ship Earth" (I lost it when moving houses). It argues that the Earth is a Space Ship orbiting the Sun, and just like a Space Ship, we need to maintain the Earth. Not just because flowers are pretty but because our very survival depends on it. Dismiss the ecology and the economy will pay a severe price.

Apparently this is “crazy-talk” to some.

Yes, the drain on our economy is the only thing that will motivate politicians to act. They are tired of our ever-increasing disaster budgeting. Some cities in America have been studying how the Netherlands have created barriers to rising sea levels. They're even trying to control weather in China.
