Maybe we'll see the prices come down again when we have another Republican President. It seems that Democrats love it when Big Oil makes huge profits.
Has the Bush administration gone down the memory hole now?

Was Carter before your time?
He was however I was replying to your assertion that a Republican in the Whitehouse = lower gas prices. The administration of Bush the younger shows that not to be the case.

"At this point, there is no plausible connection between Biden becoming president and the increasing gasoline prices," Severin Borenstein, a professor of Business Administration and Public Policy at the University of California Berkeley said."

"This is not a political issue. It's more of a Covid-19 challenge simply because of how Covid-19 decimated fuel demand last year,"

I didn't make that assertion; but you might want to consider that during the Bush Administration we were at war with an oil rich nation, and that wars consume large amounts of oil. These aren't minor details.

I'm going to have to take my claim about Presidential impact back then. Clearly the actions of a President alone *can* impact oil and thus gasoline prices. Has Biden started any wars with oil-rich nations we should be worried about?

I meant that maybe we'll return to the good times that we had with Trump.
Then you should have said that. Im not looking back with longing to record low gas prices at the cost of a global economic haunt but to each their own.

Childish...

Inflation is happening in many industrialized countries, and not just with gasoline. Are we to seriously believe Biden is responsible for it all?
My Congress woman keeps telling me to.

Is not that the point of having a President,

having someone to blame?

Your source is literally called CNNPolitics of course they are going to point the finger at anything but Biden, let's just use the scapegoat called Covid amiright? Despite the fact that Covid was around when Trump was president as well and the gas prices weren't so high then were they?

Are you having fun with your little troll thread?

The reference was clearly to if *President* Biden had started any oil wars. As it came in response to the recognition that *President* Bush's War for Oil had radically affected the oil market at the time.

Your reply was with an item from 2020, which was before Biden became president, so it would be quite prescient if it contained a listing of wars started by President Biden.

We even saw negative oil prices briefly during his tenure, now we just need to bring the global economy to a near halt again and we will see them once more. Bit steep of a price to me.

President Biden’s decision to nix the Keystone XL pipeline has come under renewed fire as the administration struggles with rising consumer frustration over skyrocketing gas prices.

Sen. Joe Manchin III, West Virginia Democrat, made another plea for Mr. Biden to reverse his Jan. 20 executive order revoking the $8 billion pipeline expansion after the president announced Tuesday he would release 50 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Biden dogged by decision to kill Keystone XL pipeline as gas prices soar

Is this Senator misinformed; or is this all for theater?

Interior report calls on Biden to raise costs of oil and gas drilling on federal land

Biden orders release of strategic oil reserves, says high gas prices not caused by clean-energy push

So this is nothing more than a ruse to trick the public into thinking that he doing something in the face of this crisis?

If this is all you have in relation to gas prices being Biden's fault then you have a whole lot of nothing at all.

Firstly, the Keystone pipeline would have given the owners more capacity to transport oil so they might have drilled more. So stocks might have risen. But:
A) The amount compared to total global stocks (which is what is affecting gas prices) would have been negligable. And...
B) When Biden cancelled the pipeline, only 8% had actually been built. So the immediate effect on global stocks was...zero.
So that, without a shadow of doubt, had no effect on gas prices whatsoever.

Secondly, a report which calls for future action by Biden cannot possibly have any impact on current prices whatsoever.

Thirdly, more oil becoming available (Biden has been pushing for months to get OPEC to increase production) will help to lower the price. So the release of strategic oil stocks will help to do that. In a pretty negligable manner so I thinknit was a political move, but it cannot, in any way whatsoever, be responsible for any rise in gas prices.

And in passing, I think the little stickers are great. Maybe someone could make a few of the last guy pointing at this and saying the same thing.
