Hello,
I just recently bought a Mac Mini 2010 with High Sierra installed. Thanks to the program called Catalina Patcher, I was able to upgrade to Catalina. And the best thing, my system works very good with Catalina on it. Anyways my question is are there any mac users here on CF?

I don’t have a Mac mini, but I have an IMac, Ipad, Iphone, and AppleWatch.
They all work together pretty good. I like Mac because you don’t get the viruses like with a PC, and it is geared more towards the arts and or writing (Which I like). Well, I hope to use my artistic talents more for the Lord involving my Mac. But let His will be done in all things (of course).

Well there is one mistruth you said. Macs DO get viruses, just not very often. Which is why I use Avast One on my mini so I am protected from that stuff. Anyways, glad to see I am not the only Mac user here! :)

It’s not an untruth. I said you don’t get the viruses like with a PC. Meaning, you are not constantly bombarded by as many viruses like with a PC. That is what I was saying. I was making a comparison with PCs. I am have owned PCs in the past and they all kept getting infected all the time, and or the computer parts kept dying on me after a year or so. This was not the case when I made the switch to Apple. I have owned Apple computers for many years and have not had any issues. Yes, I know Apple computers can get infected. But it is rare. I actually cannot recall ever getting a virus to my knowledge with Apple software except this year with my IPad. But I just restored it to an earlier time and it was fine.

Ok perhaps I misspoke. My apologies brother. I did not read your post fully. God bless!

I was not as clear with my wording. So it is okay. My words could have been read either way. So I gotcha. It’s all good. Anyways, I went to do mini comic tracts similar to Chick Tracts (but a little differently) with my IMAC. I am in the story process right now of writing. I want to have at least 50 great story ideas before I work on the scripts and then move on to the artwork process (Which may be done by me or by hired artists).

I like MAC’s software interface better than PC (Windows software), too. It is more intuitive towards the arts (Which I like).

I have an AppleWatch because it helps me with my work.
The IPhone is also really helpful with my work.
The IPad is nice to have as a computer downstairs when I am not in my office with my IMac. I can do more with my IMac than my IPad, but I tend to use the IPad more when home. My wife likes the IPad when cooking recipes, etc.; So they each have their own function and use that I find important.

I have a MacBook as my laptop, and also a Mac as my desktop machine at work. It's important to me to be able to get a Unix shell when I'm using my computer, so for me the choice was a Mac vs a Linux machine. The Mac has a nice graphical user interface, is fairly easy to maintain even if you're not a Unix wizard, and supports some fun recreational software, so those things were the tiebreaker for me.

Somewhere in my cupboard I have an iMac G5 which I bought years ago with OSX Tiger. It's got very old and now gathering dust!

You know Anthony that is a valuable item you can sell for a pretty penny nowadays!

I have a few, laptop running High Sierra, Trashcan mac pro and a hackmac at home which dual boots with Windows 10. That is getting upgraded to Monterey and the old ssd will be a triple boot with Arch Linux.

Will be getting a mac mini to run remote builds on osx and ios apps.

G5s not so much. The water cooled versions are known to have issues and outside of some PowerPC linux/bsd distros no modern Operating systems for it. The older ones do not even have PCI Express slots.
