Good Day,

Boom!

SNIP: “While Leon County has broken the law and received notice of a multi-million dollar fine, other local governments have reversed course. Last week, after alerting the City of Gainesville of their possible violation of the vaccination passport ban in Florida, the Florida Department of Health received a response indicating the City of Gainesville rescinded its employee vaccine mandate. This reversal also follows an Eighth Judicial Circuit Court temporary injunction preventing vaccine mandates for city employees.”

So, sounds like it may be time for them to pick a new motto and mission statement.

What's next?, is their food inspection division going to start fining restaurants for requiring their food to not be past the expiration date?

Or maybe they can spark a "clean air" initiative, where they fine businesses for banning smoking.

While they were busy thinking of ways to "promote health" (by discouraging a health measure), their "department of internet security" must be fining application developers who try to renew their site's web certificate...

From yon OP:
Firing hard working employees over vaccine passports has real and lasting consequences. It leads to resentment in the workplace, and loss of employment impacts individual and public health,” said State Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo. "Individuals have every right to choose how to best protect themselves and their families, and the Department will continue to enforce this law.”

Whereas putting onerous fines that bankrupt those same businesses is a-okay?

That would be the state of Missouri who is threating to sue a reporter who pointed out a vulnerability in their department of education's website that leaked social security numbers.

Bolding the part I find ironic about their statement...

Individuals have a right to choose which approach they may want to try, but in many instances, the word "best" shouldn't be associated with their approach.

For instance, in this case, they're specifically trying to pander to people (who, let's be honest, are likely DeSantis voters...which is why he's pandering to them) who think that "doing nothing" is the best approach to protecting their families.

It'd be sort of like pandering to a group who said "I don't want to adhere to drunk driving laws, I have a right to best decide how to best drive sober. I've done my own research, and I think the best way to drive sober is to do a shot of Jameson's before I get behind the wheel"

You can tell how backwards a locality is when they honestly and truly feel like the gay couple down the street getting a marriage license is a bigger existential threat than a pathogen that's killed 60,000 people in their state.

He's also been vaccinated. Which is fine. But he should be encouraging others to get vaccinated, Social distance and wear a mask. But he rather keep the deceiving going on. So people will vote for him. A lot of media are deceiving and lying about the wearing a mask ,social and vaccination being bad.

But, they're not protecting themselves or others. And their choices affect people ,and possibly kill people. Or leave people with damages of the body. And you have the right to be told the truth. But you're being lied too.

His latest shtick is offering unvaccinated cops $$$ to relocate to Florida.

He's plays the double speak
"I'm vaccinated and I think the vaccines are good" in one statement (as a rebuttal when he's called out for pandering to anti-vaccine sentiments)

But then he does things like the aforementioned.

He seems to be trying to have it both ways.

It'd be like a person having "10 cent beer night" on a college campus, but then trying to say "well, I'm against getting drunk, I personally don't drink"

Federal aid has been with held due to enforcement of Mask mandates by some school districts.

Florida strips schools of federal aid for mask mandates

Snip"
The Florida Department of Education (DOE) this week withheld hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal funding from two school districts because of their masking policies, defying warnings from the Biden administration.

Alachua County officials in a statement said the state stripped more than $160,000 this week as punishment for the school district requiring masks.

That figure equals the monthly salary of five school board members, as well as the entire amount of the federal grant meant to compensate school districts that have their money withheld by the state."

Snip" The announcements come just one day after the Biden administration warned the state that such a move would violate federal law, and represents an escalation of the administration's battle with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) over COVID-19 safety measures in schools."

Something tells me that DeSantis does not find such a assertion very compelling.

IN Him,

Bill

Desantis is determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Florida, once not even in the top 20 states in covid deaths, now ranks 7th, blasting past many states blindsided by the early pandemic and the sabotage of the Trump administration. If he doesn't take heed soon, he's literally killing his election hopes.
