...Except that the great trib didn't then occur. That's a pret urban legend.
Except it did. Jerusalem was actually destroyed, along with the temple. It’s in the history books and everything.

No; my view is shaped by Scripture & history. The prophesied eschatological events are simply not found in history.
No, it’s not. You might want to actually review the history of your position. It’s shows up in the 19th century.

Those were not eschatological events. While prophesied in the Olivet Discourse, the eschatological events are those close to Jesus' return.

That’s not what He said though. You are completely misreading the text, or reading something into it which isn’t there. And ignoring all of the OT references and what they would have meant to the disciples hearing Him.

I don't care when it showed up. I found preterism to be false by my own research & conclusions. I didn't need to refer to any 150-yr-old opinions.

You're getting off the subject that the eschapological events have simply not yet occurred.

Which is odd, because you don’t really want to discuss is. You just keep dismissing with a wave of your hand as if that settles it.

But that wasn't the great trib. It was part of the "days of vengeance" pronounced by Jesus against that generation of Jews. The trib itself will be worldwide, and according to Jesus, the worst in history. Many cities had been destroyed by armies before, including Jerusalem itself over 500 years before the Romans did it again.

The Revelation shows that Jesus will return soon as the great trib is ended by Him. The eschatological events are those in close proximity to His return.

Not a whole lot to discuss. The prophesied eschatological events prets SAY have already happened, have simply NOT yet happened. They're not found whatsoever in history. As I said earlier, I have several sets of encyclopediae & other nonbiased works of history in front of me, & the occurrence of those events are not in any of them.

The destruction of J & the temple, war & rumor of war, persecution of Christians, etc. are signs leading toward the eschatological events. More-significant ones are the formation of the Jewish sovereign state, and making Jerusalem its capital. And it's not by accident or chance that Israel has defeated her more-numerous neighbors in several wars.

It was the worst in history from the context He was speaking. The whole Jewish system was upended. Also, if you need some “worst in history” references from the OT, let me know. It’s not the first time this type of language is used.

No matter what you say, you can't get by that big ole bear of a FACT that the eschatological events have NOT yet occurred.
But…they have.

Then why are you so unwilling to actually discuss Matthew 24?

Then, simply show the readership that the eschatological events have already occurred.
Please tell us the names of the beast/antichrist & his sidekick the false prophet.
Tell us when all life in the Mediterranean Sea died & it became as the blood of a dead man.
Tell us when there was an earthquake so strong that every island was moved out of its place.
Tell us when a coalition of nations, led by Russia, & including Iran & Libya, invaded israel.
Most of all, please tell us when Jesus returned physically & visibly, in great power & glory, seen by every eye.

So what you want me ti do is to assume your position, and then explain it through my lens? That’s not how it works.

What do you want to discuss about it? Some of it has been fulfilled; other parts of it are future.
What has been fulfilled? That’s a good place to start.
