A Ouija board is not an innocent board game and can invite the demonic into your home.

During the month of October one of the most popular party games is the Ouija board. While it might seem like an innocent and fun way to scare your friends, in reality it is a game that has serious spiritual dangers.

Here are a handful of helpful articles that detail the spiritual risks you take in playing with a Ouija board, leading you down a dark and deceitful path.

I agree. It is not a game.

My friends used to play with one. I was never present. A good friend would always get a severe head ache when she arrived at the house to "play". This head ache would instantly go away as soon as she sat down to use the board. If she stopped.. the headache would return.

This happened until she left the house.

Why she continued... I have no idea.

Stay away from this tool of the enemy. If there is one in your house... toss it in a fire.

They scare me, they are games of Satan, no way will I even touch one. It is sad how so many are fooled into thinking it is only a "fun game" Believe me, it is NOT a game, and people that use them are just flirting with ways to invite Satan into their life and home.

That headache is something I've experienced and is commonly reported in places that are overrun by evil spirits.

I was mocked and laughed at once for getting up and leaving a house party where they were getting set up to fool with one of those things. They all snorted and rolled their eyes and sang out, "Wassa matter, you chick-ennnn???"

And I said, "You bet I am," went out, got into my car, and drove home. The hostess of the party was very cool towards me after that, because after I left, three or four others opted out before the games commenced, and they left, too. I suppose I ruined the party, but oh well. I never heard if anything actually happened to those who stayed, but I do know I wasn't invited back to any more of her parties.

Which was probably just as well; I wouldn't have attended even if I had been invited. Heaven only knows what may have been lurking around in that residence.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Please be sure nobody gets scarred for life.

I've never messed with a ouija board so I cannot say much about them, although I've encountered other things so anything like that just seems like a very bad idea.

I personally don't put much stock into 99% of the occult, as it is a pretty big industry designed to bilk desperate people out of their money by promising them that they can have Harry Potter & Gandalf powers when in reality, it's a spiritually bankrupt dead end. I would know, because I had some of the books and did research into the claims as a teenager and came to the conclusion that it's almost always lies and nonsense. You've got a legitimately better chance of seeing an apparition of the Virgin Mary then you have "casting a spell" that you read about in some wicca book you shelled out $24 for at Books-a-Million. It's that remaining 1% that I worry about, but since it is by nature "hidden knowledge", there are not a whole lot of people with access to it in the year 2021.

Every time I hear about the occult, I just think of Elijah versus the priests of baal where Elijah starts making fun of their inability to produce a result and starts saying "Where is Baal? Is he going to the bathroom?"

I agree with you; but there's always that "less than 1 percent" that might actually see something conjured up that they can't get rid of. There are simply too many well-recorded cases of malignant activity to simply be dismissed as fakery. Just sayin'. :)

No I agree. It's usually the people who don't know what they're doing who end up with malignant activity. See, Wicca was a big thing when I was growing up because of movies like The Craft and shows like Sabrina the Teenage Witch... every goth girl at my high school thought that they were a "witch" and most of them were just being taken for the ride by manufacturers of wicca paraphernalia and authors of "spell books". None of these girls had any sort of powers, none of their spells worked, and eventually they all grew up, got jobs, and added more color to their wardrobe and forgot all about their occult high school daze.

It was popular for the boys that were into heavy metal and dungeons and dragons to claim to be "satanists" and they had their copies of Anton LaVey's Satanic Bible, but they were even bigger phonies than the wiccan girls. I've read some of the books, read the Satanic Bible, and almost immediately realized that it was all spiritually bankrupt nonsense. I've never been exposed to actual legitimate occult stuff because like I said, that stuff remains well hidden and only the initiated usually have access to that.

I find the occult to be tempting

You shouldn't, because 99% of it is nonsense and the remaining 1% that is actually dangerous is not very easy to uncover. You really have to go out of your way to find it and as the years pass, it becomes harder and harder to find as the texts and practices are continually lost to the march of time.

Of course I shouldn't find it tempting. But you know what the Apostle Paul said - he does the things he doesn't want to do, but doesn't do the things he should do, or something like that.
(Thankfully I am not actually doing the occult because the temptation is not strong enough to take over me)

Yeah, it's evolved a bit more in the school's, mainly because the kids are less sane. Schoolteachers here now are trained to handle the kids the same way psychewards do. The stuff, like the transgenderism, they push causes not only illness, but opens doors I think, in a way pop-occult didn't.

For me, in highschool, there was a guy in his mid thirties - an Jungian Sorcerer who was somewhat a mentor and I looked up to him. He showed me old grimoires and other thins like scrying. But he didn't believe in the supernatural, as a Jungian he considered the practices and texts to be of a pureoy psychological nature - just a means of self-betterment. So a highly complex months-long ritual from something like the Ars Notoria would be done with the expectation that the practice of the ritual would require overcoming psychological obstacles or hardships and help do things like integrate the shadow.... etc. etc. The view wasn't much different than what is sometimes found with yoga or mindfulness, but using medieval magical texts was idiosyncratic.

Nowadays I find myself looking at the theology and practices of the Church through a quare lens. And I don't know what to do about it. Is iconography function like sympathetic magic? Does it work like a voodoo doll by the homeopathic principle? Where's the line? Can I find someone in the Church that knows enough of both worlds to answer my questions and set me straight?

And in this way a danger isn't only overtly supernatural, but from an admixture of morally incompatable frameworks.
