The CDC and WHO report the consensus of the scientists findings, not a few
maverick doctors.

Anti-vaxers listen to the mavericks and will help spread the virus until it mutates once
again and God forbid, the vaccines no longer protect us.
"The CDC and WHO report the consensus of the scientists findings, " Wrong. Politics not medicine drives these Gov't agencies.

"God forbid, the vaccines no longer protect us."--Which mass vax will precipitate. "Basic Virology 1A"...Listen to first 5 min, here here

People need to hear this. Top virologists keep telling us universal vax will destroy immunity and make vax useless.

Jesus never told the government to do anything.

A friend just came down with COVID a week after getting the Pfizer vaccination, his doctor said he's the eighth one like that he's heard of.

What happened to 'My body, my choice'?

Most likely because he was caring the virus before getting the vaccination.

Same thing happened to my neighbors who are both doctors in Boston and probably
got the virus while giving out vaccines last February.

Also it depends when they came down with Covid. Like in between shots, or after the second but before the 14 days were complete.

After the 1st shot of Pfizer, people are protected 78% and after 95% after the 2nd and after the two week period. However, that two week period is a guideline and not etched in stone.

There are breakthrough cases of course as even fully vaccinated people still have a 5% chance
of getting infected. However, most are elderly over 80 with underlying health conditions. I'm almost
wondering if the hospitals aren't milking that like they did last year, declaring a man died from COVID-19 when it was actually injuries from a motorcycle accident that killed him.

This is actually a really good way to describe it. 99% [well, 100% that I've seen] of scientific studies are hands down in favor of vaccination.

When investigating the opposition, typically we just see questionable YouTube videos and sketchy websites about government takeover and conspiracy.

This is unfortunately very true. People decide the outcome of their decision then go looking for "evidence" to back up their predetermined outcome. YouTube and "sketchy websites" are filled with every kind of "fact" from the truth to utter nonsense.

There are even misinformed people who think Ivermectin -- horse dewormer! -- will cure COVID-19!!

I think that part of the issue is that many people do not typically know how to differentiate between scientific, peer reviewed, statistically significant research and data vs a claim that doesn't have associated data.

For example, person A might say "Joe Smith died after being vaccinated". Which may or may not be true, but the question becomes, is there statistically significant data to suggest that the person died due to the vaccine vs simply dying of natural causes?

Same goes with miscarriages during pregnancy. Most adults are well familiar with the fact that infertility and miscarriages are relatively common. Most people have either experienced a miscarriage or know someone who has, before the pandemic even began.

So if someone experiences a miscarriage after being vaccinated, They might be led to believe that the vaccine had something to do with it, although if we look at general statistics we might see that it were something that would naturally occur with or without a vaccine.

And I think a lot of people struggle between understanding the difference between correlation and causality, and aren't familiar enough with the scientific method and peer review to know how to look at data.

Great post! Everyone should read it as it is very clear, explanatory, and true.
