just read Jason Jones’ account — based on leaks from high-level intelligence sources — of the sheer extent of the high-tech, strategic loot Joe Biden handed the Talibanand al Qaeda, closely allied to China. The facts beggar belief. By intentionally abandoning billions of dollars of military equipment and facilities, Biden has transformed a backward country into a major military power, aligned with Communist China and radical, terrorist Islam. Here are a few choice quotes:

  • “This is the greatest loss of military equipment in the history of warfare by one power. What America has just given to the Taliban is equivalent to 85% of all the military aid Washington has given to Israel since 1948.”
  • The U.S. Government “is so used to burning and wasting American taxpayers’ hard-earned money that no one from our government can be even bothered to address the fact that 85-90 billion [dollars] in military equipment has been left to the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.”
  • “This is larger than the annual military budget for every nation around the world except the U.S. and China. So the Taliban, thanks to the U.S. Government, this year has a larger military budget than Russia, the U.K., India and France.”
Worse Than 9/11

We spent $85B in equipment and training for Afghanistan military. Probably $24B in equipment over 20 years, some of which is obsolete or now non-repairable. Similar to the F-14s that Iran has that are the best in the region but hard to maintain or upgrade 40 years later.

FACT FOCUS: Trump, others wrong on US gear left with Taliban

I still maintain that the best thing we could have done after 9/11 was to drop a moderately-sized tactical nuke on Kabul (nothing big---just enough to vaporize the Taliban and turn the surrounding area into a lethally-radioactive wasteland for approximately the next 80,000 years or so) and been done with it.

How do you know?

It's no big secret, the $84-88bn figure liars like the guy linked to keep pushing around is the amount spent on training and equipping the Afghan forces over the last 20 years. What was left behind is largely defunct or rendered inoperable, it's value even if still usable is nothing like even 10% of that figure. Millions maybe, maybe a few billion. You can easily find this information.
