Short answer - no, you're not getting DNA-enhanced superpowers from mRNA shots.

Man, what a ripoff... I had my superhero costume ready and everything...

Glad you came through both times. You are blessed to have made it through something twice.....that many were not able to make it through once.

If it was delta, it is a good sign that it was mild.....news seem to say it may be worse.

Much worse, so I've heard... Either my first bout or my vaccination (most likely a combination of both) cushioned the blow. Both times were relatively mild, but for the second I was in bed for an afternoon as opposed to an entire weekend.

If you can't dodge the bullet, the next best thing is to only be grazed by it.

Do you mind sharing which vaccine you took?

Not at all -- Pfizer.

I pay no mind to the marital status, good looks of the profile picture, religion or gender of the person behind the words I read. they are just words.

You just read that I was speaking to an atheist like he should believe in more than human power, and since repented.

It seems you are trying to stir up strife..... and why would that be? does the truth hurt?

What? You were addressing someone who was clearly a Christian and calling him an atheist.

I've never said people shouldn't get vaccinated.....maybe you are responding to the wrong person.

Perhaps so. I was responding to the RaymondG who had been complaining at lenght that he felt forced into having the vaccine.

You want talons and a costume? I can just imagine Logan's sneer if it was suggested he wear a cape.

Glad you came through both infections.

I think our, tragically large, death rate from covid is 986 as from this morning.
That is the total deaths from COVID in Australia since February 2020, so 18 months (Link). We also know that the numbers are inflated because many who died with a positive COVID test were reported as a COVID death, even if they had died from something unrelated.
In 2019, the total number of deaths from respiratory diseases in Australia was 5360 (Link), so most of the people who died from COVID would have died from the flu or pneumonia or some other respiratory disease anyway. Have you noticed how no one died from the flu this year despite many hundreds dying from the flu every previous year?
Do these numbers back up the pandemic narrative? Not from where I'm sitting.

Maybe you should sit somewhere else. The flu deaths last year were 36 (newsGP - Flu-zero: More than a year since Australia’s last flu death). The fact that most of us have been exceptionally careful about spreading germs about for 18 months and social distancing and wearing masks doesn't really make that number surprising in the least. Likewise unsurprising is the fact that there have been none so far this year.

And any point you make regarding the numbers of deaths for one country will be applicable to another. So the vastly different numbers per capita between Australia and the US would remain. So my point stands.

What point was that? I would be fine doing business with a company that elected not to be vaccinated. I know plenty of others who would do the same.

Then you and the people to whom you just referred, in America, take a different attitude to this pandemic to those of us in Australia. Which is confirmed by the drastically different rates of covid deaths. Which was the point I was making. And which you seem intent on confirming.

I beg your pardon. The original point was made by RestoreTheJoy. In which case I hope you and your friends don't live in my neck of the woods.

Isn't Bondi where much of the present outbreak started?

One of the areas, yeah. Which is why we're so very keen on everyone getting the vaccine and obeying the rules. The vast majority are. Which is no good if you get a few refusing to treat this seriously.

I treat it very seriously, but the government response is doomed to fail. Many animals can carry COVID which makes lockdowns futile. As long as there are animal reserviors of the virus we will not be able to put a lid on it. It isn't like Polio that can only be carried by humans.

It's not as if we've not got packs of wild dogs roaming the suburbs. The way out is mass vaccination. And we're heading for 70%. Restrictions will drop to a certain extent in two weeks if you have had both jabs. The quicker we get more vaccinated the better we'll be.

Sure seems to be working for Israel, NOT.

'What’s clear in Israel (and the United Kingdom and United States) is lifting all movement restrictions and mask mandates after Delta arrived resulted in surging cases. Current vaccines at about 60% uptake weren’t enough.' COVID cases are rising in highly vaccinated Israel. But it doesn't mean Australia should give up and 'live with' the virus

We don't go back to normal for quite some time. 70% vaccination isn't the aim. It's a way point towards 80% and 90%.

Here is your post: Pfizer vaccine receives FDA approval.

You said:
Like I told the other Atheist I was sharing wisdom with, I understand why you feel this way, and if i were you, I'd feel the same way, for you have no other alternative but to rely on the works of men around you for your health and protection. And I find no fault in it.

By saying 'like I told the other atheist', you were implying that LeafByNiggle is also an atheist, even though he clearly identifies as Catholic. If this was just an honest mistake, there's no shame in admitting it.
