Well, actually the NOI is heretical to Islam in several fundamental ways.

That's one of the reasons Malcolm X and Elijah Muhammad's own son left the organization and started a more orthodox organization for black American Muslims.
I didn't hear about any of them looking into the Shia branch of Islam. Shias abhor Wahabbism and have been friends with the Hindus for centuries. Those who would be considered Oriental Orthodox Christians do just fine in Iran.

For the record, I don't care for the NOI; they NEVER gave a Profit and Loss statement about the monies accrued from the Million Man March. Also for quite sometime right into the present- NOI has been financially supported by Scientology. Another unorthodox organization.

How would the Nation of Islam have profited from the Million Man March? Were they required by law to provide such a statement? Many religious organizations don't.

Sufis are pretty peaceful as well.

I've said here and other places that Sunni Wahabbism--which is supported and exported by Saudi Arabia--is responsible for all Islamic terrorism that has occurred in the West. All of it. Saudi Arabia's oil money and their Wahabbi doctrine supports all the terrorism we're afraid of in the West.

At the March, Farrakhan asked every there to donate at least 1 US dollar at the event for a future purpose use which he did not go into at that time. He promised that he would not missuse the monies collected. I kept reading the Final Call as a newspaper for YEARS after that, awaiting some sort of profit and loss or revenues and expenses report of those monies gathered- I WROTE to NOI politely more than Once about it.Never got an answer, never saw 1 article about it! If it was simply about rhetoric about Black Male Unity, he SHOULDN'T have constantly asked for donations at the event. He confirmed to me by that action that he was untrustworthy. It was on C-Span at the time too, with NO commercials. My ex friend's husband went to the March himself- he noted that it DID attract close to, if not 1 Million Men.

It may be controversial to say, but a cursory study of history will demonstrate that whether they were called Conversos, the Dommneh in the Ottoman Empire, or even rumored to be the true ancestors of the House of Saud, that certain Jewish people posing as Catholics in the New World or as Muslims in the Ottoman Empire many economic and political movements from 1492 to the Young Turks (AtaTurk) that overthrew the Sultans of the Ottoman Empire had their hands in unsavory places and events. When the Netherlands embraced Calvinism, they allowed Jewish escapees to openly worship- you could build a Synagogue in Amsterdam, BUT Catholic churches could not be built nor repaired- that's why wealthy Catholics added an attic or 3rd or 4th level to their homes and made chapels there. Suriname was the 1st place in the New World where a Synagogue was built as well inthe colonial area.

Can you please explain why you are mentioning these things?

I am discussing historical facts, not rumors that are denied because they are considered to be very incorrect. I took Dutch at University; my Instructor for Dutch history was a Dutchman- he stressed the importance of refugee ( from Portugal and Spain) Jewish people to the newly formed Netherlands and how it graciously accommodated them. I took Spanish and Portuguese back then too; ex conversos in the Netherlands or Conversos of the Iberian peninsula were discussed..
The books by NOI that are controversial have extensive footnotes and references, thus should not be considered as mere anti Semitic propaganda.

I'm not sure why you're defending this vile racist.

From the SPLC...

Ideologically, NOI is very distinct from mainstream Islam. Its “theology” – or more appropriately, its mythology – holds that the original humans were black, and that God, who is a black man, created them. White people were not created by God but by the evil black scientist Yakub. Yakub used eugenics to create white people, killing many black babies to do so. Because of the process by which Yakub created the white race, white people are inherently deceitful and murderous. Given these views, it is not surprising that white people are banned from NOI.

He's got footnotes for this racist ideology? Who cares.

Farrakhan routinely uses his popularity to rail against Jewish people. In July 1985, he spoke to an audience of 10,000 at the Washington, D.C., convention center. He told the audience, “Jews know their wickedness, not just Zionism, which is an outgrowth of Jewish transgression.” In September of that year, Farrakhan spoke at Morgan State University in Baltimore. In his speech, he attacked Israel and Zionist Jews. He explained that Israel had not found peace since its creation because:

So blah blah blah....he's not just a critic of Israel, he hates jews and white people. He's as vile a racist as has ever existed. He preaches hate.

He should be an embarrassment to the black community, but he isn't, and I think that's largely because the US makes excuses for racism in the black community instead of confronting it.

Personally, I just want to know if his statements in the OP have been refuted yet.

Nation of Islam

Jews have been conclusively linked to the greatest criminal endeavor ever undertaken against an entire race of people … the black African Holocaust. … The effects of this unspeakable tragedy are still being felt among the peoples of the world at this very hour.”
The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews (NOI book), 1991

For real? They think Jews are the architects of a black holocaust? That would explain why Farrakhan is a fan of Hitler.

“The Jews don’t like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that’s a good name. Hitler was a very great man. He wasn’t a great man for me as a black person, but he was a great German. Now, I’m not proud of Hitler’s evils against Jewish people, but that’s a matter of record. He raised Germany up from nothing. Well, in a sense you could say there’s a similarity in that we are raising our people up from nothing.”
– Louis Farrakhan, radio interview, March 11, 1984

Of course, you don't have to take my word for it. Ask Martin Luther King....

By 1959, Martin Luther King was warning of “a hate group arising in our midst that would preach the doctrine of black supremacy.

I tend to agree with MLK on this matter, black struggle can be used for good ends or bad.

As a side note...Farrakhan is also a fan of Communism and Socialism.

Yes, we've already established that the man is no fan of the Jews -- but that wasn't my question.

I was referring to his speech in the OP.

Sufism isn't really a branch of Islam, it's just a mystical theology/practice of the religion, sort of like Eastern Orthodox hesychastic spirituality. Sufism has existed in both Sunni and Shia regions.

Wahabism was shaped by similar forces as Christian fundamentalism- an encounter with modernity where modernity was rejected in favor of a repristinated, "pure" religion.
