Esaias 55:3 Give heed with your ears, and follow My ways: hearken to Me, and your soul shall live in prosperity; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, the sure mercies of David.LXX
Matthew 26:26-28 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is My body. 26:27 And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 26:28 For this is My blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
The New Covenant commenced after John went to prison, Matthew 4:23. The Last Passover is the New Covenant ratified. Those who keep the Gospel of the Kingdom have accepted the New Covenant: "the sure mercies of David" Isaiah 55:3, "an Everlasting Covenant" Matthew 24:35.
These 'sure mercies of David' cannot be a patched-up Old Covenant because of Matthew 9:12-13 and Matthew 9:16-17.
Nor can these 'sure mercies of David' be Paul's gospel of "Christ crucified"... because that event took place after the New Covenant was ratified between Jesus and His Galilean Apostles.
John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 10:2 But He that entereth in by the door is the Shepherd of the sheep. 10:3 To Him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear His voice: and He calleth His own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 10:4 And when He putteth forth His own sheep, He goeth before them, and the sheep follow Him: for they know His voice. 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
John 12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on Me, believeth not on Me, but on Him that sent Me. 12:45 And he that seeth Me seeth Him that sent Me. 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on Me should not abide in darkness. 12:47 And if any man hear My words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 12:48 He that rejecteth Me, and receiveth not My words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 12:49 For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 12:50 And I know that His Commandment is Life Everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.
Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith He that is holy, He that is true, He that hath the key of David, He that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept My word, and hast not denied My name. 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of My patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of Heaven from My God: and I will write upon him My new name. 3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with Him an hundred forty and four thousand, having His Father's name written in their foreheads.
James 1:18 Of His own will begat He us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
Matthew 25:1 Then shall the Kingdom of Heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 25:5 While the Bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him. 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 25:10 And while they went to buy, the Bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
