Republicans see the demographic changes. They see the future and they strike out and try to bring fear to enough voters to win elections. I don't see this as a winning strategy even in 2024. Their rhetoric cannot win back enough suburban women or increase the number of rural voters enough to win.
I recall the meeting of Republican leaders that were interested in a change in the party (after the 2nd loss to Obama). I will always recall the 2016 rally with an Indian-American governor and a black senator at the podium in a primary rally to support an Hispanic Republican from a nearby state. Had Christie not done Trump's dirty work by embarrassing Rubio in a debate the week before, the Republican Party might be very, very different today.
Haley will try to resurrect the vision of a big tent conservative Republican Party, but it seems that she will fail. The inmates have taken over, and likely cannot be driven out by 2024.
