Dear ones,
Didn’t we hear this:
- For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me." -Romans 15:3
I try to understand the word,”reproach.” Oxford dictionary defines as
verb, address (someone) in such a way as to express disapproval or disappointment and as a
noun, the expression of disapproval or disappointment.
Are not many who disapproved or disappointed with God ? And that blame or disgrace fell on our Beloved Savior, Christ?
Didn’t they by their disapproval and disappointment gave FALSE WITNESS ?
Yet, our Beloved Lord didn’t please Himself but bear all things.
This is what we have heard:
- For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me. -Psalms 69:9
- When I wept and humbled my soul with fasting, it became my reproach. -Psalms 69:10
- I am the talk of those who sit in the gate, and the drunkards make songs about me. -Psalms 69:12
When many disapproved or disappointed at our God, let us know that our Beloved Lord WEPT and humbled His soul with fasting; that is how He endured all things. Our precious Lord knew that He has been the talk of those who disapproved or disappointed about Him, that they bore FALSE WITNESSES about Him.
This is what we have heard:
- For it is for your sake that I have borne reproach, that dishonor has covered my face. -Psalms 69:7
- I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother's sons. -Psalms 69:8
So our dear Christ, has borne THESE FALSE WITNESSES or reproach for the sake of God.
Didn’t we hear that Christ said that He has become a stranger to his brothers ? So has it not those who believed before has become brother to the Lord, now they gave false witness about Christ and mistreated our beloved Savior as stranger. Has not many treated Jesus as alien, when actually they are the sons of the covenant?
What has these FALSE WITNESSES OR REPROACH done to our Beloved Christ?
This is what we have heard:
- Reproaches have broken my heart, so that I am in despair. I looked for pity, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none. -Psalms 69:20
Dear ones, let us be mindful of our words. Let us guard our mouths from evil. Yes, let us not speak deceit. Let us not break the heart of our Beloved Redeemer. Let us be compassion to our Lord and to those whom He called us to be with. Let bring true comfort of love to our Beloved by loving Him with first love and do things that please our dear Lord the things that He commanded for our good.
To God be the glory. Let our spirits dear near Him to comfort Him with our love.
Let us be found in union with Christ’s love.
Let us be TRUE WITNESSES of His goodness and wonderful works of the Lord to the children of men, that bring great delights to Christ, the Son of God.
