What are your thoughts about God and Hell?

I personally believe that Hell/Hades/Sheol gave up it's dead as the scriptures proclaim.

Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.

Do you believe this?

If Revelation 20:13 is about the Final Judgment (which I believe it is), then it would follow that this giving up of the dead has to do with the resurrection of the dead.

Since the Last Judgment is not until Christ's Parousia, and since the Parousia corresponds with the bodily resurrection of the dead, it would follow then that what is described here in the Apocalypse has not happened.

Hades/She'ol is simply the "place" of the dead. Concerning the future judgment of the wicked and their ultimate fate "in hell", we have only the rough sketches and vivid pictures of Scripture to give us signposts. When it comes to this subject I am often intentionally vague because I don't believe I can dogmatic on the subject; the orthodox conception of hell is varied and complex, with exceedingly little to be said very definitely about it at all. Which, one imagines, is why at no point in the Church's 2000 year long history has there ever been a formal definition of hell given at any of the historic and great councils of the Church.

The act of the grave giving up the dead in Rev 20 is the "second resurrection" according to the chapter.

The first resurrection is the one that takes place at the Rev 19 second coming event according to Rev 20:4-6

Those who are in the grave (dead) will at the judgement rise to be judged, at that time everyone goes to heaven or hell. the fire will eventually burn everything up.

This preacher does not understand what it means for God to be outside of time.

Revelation 20:13-15
King James Version

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

This video is what I consider to be more of an atheistic teaching. It rules out that God cannot forget our sins. The scriptures teach that He does. Because He chooses to.

Yes. IF you are talking about what happened around the time of both Good Friday and the morning of the Resurrection. That is called "the Harrowing of Hell".

Harrowing of Hell - Wikipedia

However, I am not a Preterist. I believe that was only for the Righteous dead that were in the "Bosom of Abraham". For the most part, that is still a future yet to come for most.

Hey do not believe anything I say or what the man in the video says: He is just presenting the facts of what Scripture itself says.

Never believe me or anything I say or trust me. Always go and seek the answers in the Scripture and ask God to help you along in your studies.

Cool, thank you for sharing your views, @ViaCrucis

@BobRyan

What does all that mean bobryan?

@bling

I believe that those from Noahs time up til the time of judgement had all the people who were in sheol/hell and they were dropped out of Hell to be judged.

I believe this shows a victory of Jesus Christ over the place called Hell and it is emptied and thrown into the lake of fire.

@CatsRule2020
I wouldn't consider atheistic if the teacher places his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. All He is doing is presenting scriptures and he believes that Jesus Christ paid for all sin. Also believes that their is only one way to God - by and through the Lord Jesus Christ who the way, the truth, and the life.

@Pavel Mosko
Yes that is found in scripture where the Lord is in sheol and goes to proclaim a message to the lost souls of noahs age that had been kept in hell. All people from the old testament went to hell...
