We are far beyond "speech impediment." Confusing Syria and Libya multiple times, coupled with the other confusion/outbursts on full display, isn't an issue with speech but cognitive function; especially when you go back and look at Biden's speeches from the 90s and 2000s compared to now.

Ignoring for the moment how confusion/outbursts weren't an issue until quite recently, and assuming that the assessment of the cause is in fact correct, it still remains quite telling that one man's attitude is not embarrassing, but another's alleged handicap is.

Biden's detractors aren't embarrassed -- they're frightened.

If Biden is in cognitive decline, the only options are for him to resign, or for his cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment.

Either way, the end result is the same: Kamala Harris becomes the first female president of the United States...

Speaking for myself, I'd be sad to see Biden go... but I can accept President Harris. Who else on this thread can say likewise?
