There is lots of stuff going on in the "George Floyd Autonomous Zone". Shootings especially with "assault rifles' etc. most notable. Largely not being reported right now. I do suspect
it to feed into gun control legislation for the future.

This however does remind me why I don't take the hysterics over the Capitol riot seriously. Namely, it was bad and a serious blunder for Trump, but not the unforgiveable sin that folks paint it as. This however is an unforgiveable sin of criminal negligence, stupidity, etc. It is an example of blue state politicians not doing their job to protect the public at large because of their political ideology.

The Federal Courthouse in Portland off and on for more than a year and NOT ONE person in Democratic leadership has done anything to help the officers trying to defend an protect a federal building from the onslaught.

Jason Rantz: Antifa attacks federal courthouse in Portland causing 'traditional amount of chaos'

Where is the outcry? joe and his administration is silent on the attacks - why?

Jerry Nadler calls violence from Antifa in Portland a 'myth'

The left either calls it a myth, or blames someone else.

Americans need to wake up, we are being violently over run and media is complicit.

It really interesting if you look at the history of Seattle and Portland before all the riots, started last year, they were doing poorly enough to inspire documentaries from local TV shows like "Seattle is Dying" on You-tube. And then you add to that the official actions of mayors and city counsels where they endorse the occupied zones etc. which potentially makes them legally liable for the damage, death and injury that happens because of that.

Apparently, the stories of Seattle's death have been greatly exaggerated:

Surprise! Seattle was the fastest-growing big U.S. city in 2020
Throughout the pandemic, we’ve been reading stories about people fleeing big cities for the suburbs, smaller towns, and rural areas. And, of course, here in Seattle, a lot of folks have talked about our city dying.

Well, it turns out, to paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of Seattle’s death are an exaggeration. Not only did Seattle keep growing in 2020, but it grew by a healthy amount.

New data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that between July 1, 2019, and July 1, 2020, Seattle had a net gain of about 16,400 residents, hitting a total population of 769,700. That pencils out to a growth rate of 2.2% last year.

And that means that among the 50 biggest U.S. cities, Seattle is — are you sitting down? — No. 1 for growth in 2020.

What about all those Sunbelt cities that everyone has been flocking to during the pandemic? Sure, they’re growing fast, but they were behind Seattle. Fort Worth, Texas, ranks No. 2, followed by Mesa, Arizona; Austin; and Tampa.

Seattle’s 2020 growth was actually pretty much in line with the numbers we saw back in the 2010s — and Seattle was also the fastest-growing city of the past decade. It doesn’t match our fastest growth rate, which exceeded 3%. But last year’s 2.2% actually beat out the rate of growth between 2018 and 2019, which was 1.4%.

That being said, there are problems with the growth. A lot of people are moving to Capitol Hill for the quirky and laid-back environement, and then bring in high-rise buildings and congestion that make them complain that the area is losing its character. One of my sons moved to West Seattle, after a developer threw up a high-rise that blocked his view the harbor and brought in a host of 20-something singles who made the place less desirable for a family.

Still, it's a city with "problems" many other cities would love to have.
