To be fair, I don't think Biden had any idea what he meant either. No idea. And there's not really a lot of info to go on here to figure it out.
There is a term for this.Best President ever. Please, everyone give a big cheer for no taxation. How awesome is this news!!??
There is a term for this.
"Grace"
When a person behaves gracefully, they consider what the other person intended to say and react to the intent, rather than to try to accentuate an obvious mistake.
When people write books or research papers etc, these are peer reviewed. Software is also used to check spelling and grammar. Lots of time and effort is made to get the written word correct.
These processes and tools exist because people aren't robots, and we make genuine mistakes, quite frequently.
When people speak live, they don't have the benefit of spelling and grammar checkers, they don't have the benefit of re-reading what they have spoken and correcting any mistakes.
Jumping on this, like you have, does not show any grace.
I'm pretty sure you didn't seriously believe that Biden was offering to remove tax from people earning less than 400K per year.
OK, I get it, Biden said something wrong, he made a gaffe.
I understand that it seems to be a Republican thing at the moment to try to convince people that Biden is senile. Gaffes like this are normal, not a sign of senility.
He was still speaking live."When people speak live"
He was reading off a teleprompter.
Please hear now, the best news ever. Trump could have never ever done what Biden is fixing to do for the American people:
"Anybody making less than $400k a year will not pay a single penny in taxes"
@23:09, for the entire nation to hear:
Best President ever. Please, everyone give a big cheer for no taxation. How awesome is this news!!??
Oh
Oh...you could not be anymore wrong. Everyone will be recipients of his tax increases.
How, you may ask? Because the extra taxes being imposed on higher income earners will be passed onto consumers who purchase products, and services, in order to recoup the loss.
The other scenario is businesses will cut positions, or close stores in order to lower payroll obligations, they could also cut hours, and lower wages
Or, they could do all these things, which is more likely.
Businesses will recoup the loss, the average worker will bear the increases.
Trickle-down taxes?Oh

I see no merit in advocating for a neighbor to be taken from despite another's willingness. Charity should be voluntary, shouldn't it? Unless of course, Rome is the middle man between ourselves and God's grace.
Without taxes, there would be no public agencies that serve as charities for the poor. The FDA also would not exist. Do you want people who make $400,000 annually to keep all their money while programs poor, old, and disabled citizens can't live without cease to exist?
The government had ways of funding itself prior to the ratification of the 16th amendment. I'm not for abolishing all taxes, just repealing the 16th amendment. I oppose most forms of coerced or involuntary taxation. Things like tariffs, sales taxes, and property taxes I can get behind. I think the government has a purpose, but I'd be fine with turning charities and poverty aid over to the private sector; they at least don't create systemic poverty. The old adage holds true: Sometimes, helping hurts.
Before the 16th Amendment was added, America did not have millions of people over age 60 and a major income gap between citizens with and without disabilities. If you think the government today can solve all of the problems that did not exist back then now without income taxes you have a lot of learning to do immediately.
Let me know when everyone who can afford to pay income taxes wants to donate that money to charities voluntarily. Until that happens, income taxes are absolutely necessary to make sure all poor and disabled Americans can get what they need.
The free market is all powerful, except when the narrative requires it not to be.That's odd... the last guy cut taxes on the higher income earners, and prices for products and services certainly didn't go down...
Actually we did, we had 4.9M people (Of 76M total people) over age 60 in 1900: National Intercensal Tables: 1900-1990
Many people not only pay income taxes but they donate to charity as well. Doesn't mean that the unjust violation of the usurpation of the fruits of their labors should magically be okay.
Any mention of "income gaps" I encourage a review of God's 8th and 10th commandments.
What the poor need is to be helped out of poverty (for I was once poor, and thank God I struggled through college while working 2 jobs making ends meet most of the time), we don't do that via government programs on the whole.
